Hey Markos,

Are you now advocating this new routine as the best routine for guys starting out? (as opposed to the skinny guy routine?) Or does it really not matter which routine you do as the principles are still the same - whole body, compound lifts.

For the past 1.5 years I've been following the variation to the skinny guy routine you originally gave Shorty:

Squat 1 x 20, 1 x 15
Bench press 2 x 8
SLDL 2 x8
Wide Grip Chins 2 x max
Military press 2 x 8
BB curl 2 x 8
Dips 2 x 8

Cheers,

The routines are very similar. The effort you put in is the key, not the rep variation or exercise variations.

It's both and neither. It's a beginner routine.

You need the foundations before you worry about what exactly you're building on top of it. You don't worry about whether you're going to be an accountant or a labourer when you're in primary school. You have to learn fractions and long division either way.

Basics first.

hi why the curlz and not kickbacks or something for tris

You really shouldn't utter that word unless it is a joke. Also if you did not notice there are two pressing movements in the program already so tri's do not need extra work.
