Well since this thread was so cool to welcome me, i'll just say hi and say a little bit about myself.

Age: 20
Location: Sydney
Height: 173cm
Current weight: 71kg
Training history: For about 1 year and 3 months.
A little bit about myself: Started off at 57kg, went on Mark Rippetoe's Starting Strength and bulked up to 80kg. Took 4 months or so dieting down to 71kg. Now i'm planning to bulk up again and move on to more intermediate programming after i try to milk some more linear progression.

Fat Dave, have you ever gone anywhere and not made a dick of yourself?

Why on earth would anyone make a thread simply for you, seriously lol

I've got pretty much no experience with any training, but am trying to get my strength up to assist my pole dancing - who knew it was so hard to lift yourself around a pole!
At the moment Danco's training me, so I'm looking for extra tips and advice :)

Very late into

Name: Terrence

Age: 23

Gender: Male

Location: Sydney

Occupation: Engineering student

Training Experiences: Started gymming from about 16. Started off with bodybuilder type training with split routines and unlike others my age at the time, i really didn't do much biceps (honest) but I used a lot of machines (as it was easy to add weight). My training has gradually evolved to become more functional over the years as I learned that bodybuilding was really only for looking good. I've now transitioned into more mma style workouts. Meaning explosive movements, a lot of bodyweight exercises, dynamic movement drills, plyometrics and interval training. I used to box back in high school but since then havn't really participated in anything.

Interests: Motorcycles, Mountainbiking, Fitness, Computer Games, Good TV, Guitar, Bass, and the Bombers.

Current Weight: 65kg

Height: 175cm

Goals: Saving money at the moment to join a mma gym (anyone recommend any in the Sydney area?) and in the meantime training for endurance, explosiveness and general physical prep. to get into something of a fighting weight even before starting actual lessons.

I only came across this today as I was trying to do some research on where to buy those heavy tyres for flipping in my backyard. I live in Sydney and saw a post by The Hulk that he got one in Sydney and I tried to PM him only to realise that I need 10 posts to PM.

I'm more of a listener than a talker on forums so this is my first post after joining more than a year ago.

Anyone who can help out with the tyre please let me know as I think it'll be a long long time before I make it to 10 posts.

20 y.o Uni student

Howdy all,

My name is Shaun, I am a 20 year old male. I live in South Australia; and study full-time at Flinders university. My major is Marine biology, and I have basically finished it, only 1 semester till i complete my undergrad. I enjoy scuba diving and keeping fit/doing weights most.

I consider myself quite experienced at doing weights, starting from a fairly young age, and going through 'phases', mostly for strength, and almost never for 'looks'. I have trained using splits and various supplements, but now stick to the staples.

I joined because i wanted to discuss training and goals with others, and hoped that this would be a good community to do so within.

My goals at the moment are mostly for leg strength, I already do decently in most upper body exercises for my size, but still continue to progress. Weight gain or loss is not a consideration I make, I regulate body weight by all the exercise I do, and additionally I dont put on 'fat weight' easily.

I would like to share my experience, knowledge and ideas with others, because amongst groups of friends I have helped to motivate, destribute information to them and design programs aswell.

SO yeah... as I said, my name is Shaun, and hello AUSBB :P

Welcome to ausbb. There is a lot of knowledgeable people on here that will be able to help you with your goals.

If you want leg strength you should squat.

Leg press is a waste of time.

Good luck.
