Sydney protests call for beheadings...

I think you might be wrong about that, the first recorded miracle of Jesus Christ was changing water into wine, for people to drink:rolleyes:

Jesus regularly used to drink wine and promote drinking wine.

I'm not that up to speed on different religions but Catholics love there alcohol and Christians don't, I think.

You might be right Bazza.

Sure mate I'm the ignorant one. Enjoy life in your little bigot bubble.

I'm out of this arguments your as close minded as those protestors.

Agree to disagree, so it looks like you concede that you have no idea what you are talking about.

May be watch the news on now and you can see the grubs first hand:mad:

I haven't read much of the thread and I couldn't be bothered but I have a point in relation to the "sub human" claims being thrown about here.

Lets go back a few hundred years. Europe was in a period referred to as the dark ages, where the Church took political control and killed science and innovation for hundreds of years. The Middle East was well advanced with much higher education standards and a much more civilised society. The European countries/churches sent armies to "free" Jerusalem from these civilised people and succeeded in effectively destroying the society over a few hundred years. These campaigns were called Crusades. Crusade is Christian for Jihad. It's as simple as that.

So eventually Europe woke up to itself and now we are all civilised and can't understand these strange people from undeveloped countries run by sad distortions of a religion that want to wipe us out. It's probably exactly the same thing that they thought as the Crusaders tore through their cities over and over. Today's civilised society was once the sub human one and not that long ago.

This is a cycle. We are currently in a kind of Muslim dark ages and we aren't handling it too well. People will always be influenced by leaders yelling hate at them. Religion is very easy to distort into hate and intolerance and has no place in politics anywhere. The problem is that religion was developed as a political vehicle so it is difficult to confine it to a private issue.

In relation to protesters in Western countries, we need to let our courts deal with it. In relation to so called Muslim States, we need to be patient and careful. The people will educate themselves and they will put the religion back in its place eventually. In the meantime we need to be careful not to inflame issues that have the potential to turn reasonable people against us.

drunkenness is a sin
depends on which denomination of christian if alcohol is allowed.

I hold the same views about all extremists (whether religious, racist etc) - we don't want them in this country

People will educate themselves when given a chance and non-biased material is freely available.

Yep but information is getting harder and harder to control. Phones, internet and expats are probably going to do the job but it will work from the outside in which is why we need to be able to win the minds of the reasonable people and keep them.

I travelled through the Middle East for three months back in 2002.

Would never ever go back :/

That being said, plenty of arabic people are lovely peaceful folk. Including our own Fadi. Gross generalisations are born of ignorance imo.

Religion is always sure to spark great debate though. So be it.

And lets for a moment, think that if we were North Korean, this discussion wouldn't even be possible lol

Plenty of white 'christian' Australians rape women. America & its allies (Oz included) has killed more middle eastern civilians & children, than September 11th or the Bali bombings ever killed.

When I was in the middle east, they had pictures of George Bush everywhere with arabic scroll writing under it in red font that looked like blood. When I asked a local what it said, he answered 'Terrorist'.

Perception, is reality folks. It rocked me to the core.

That is all.

as I said mix of christians , muslims and druze.
The mostly secular and secular ones are fine.

According to the bible christians shouldn't drink either
but then again the bible is used by a few religons

Pretty sure your not correct bout that one

Yep, other countries they would have been met with tear gas, the water cannon, at least rubber bullets and batons.

Isn't it ironic they all hate the western world and what it stands for, yet want to move here and use the facilities provided by western culture.

agreed

Muslim religion has a zero alcohol consumption policy, while christian religion freely consumes alcohol, but getting drunk (excessive drinking) as well as gluttony are frowned upon.:)

People have a lot to answer for when they confuse facts with racism, we are one of the most accepting and accommodating societies around.

For those that suggest I may be racist may be consider the following: I am not born in Australia myself, my family is from an overseas country, I speak multiple languages, I am married to a non Australian woman, I have Asian, Middle Eastern, and many other nationalities as good friends. I have extensively traveled, have lived in Europe as well as Asia

My best and longest standing personal friend was born in the middle east as a muslim, he has read the Quran, and has since renounced his religion.

I have spend the last 5 years working directly with middle eastern people mostly of muslim religion, day in day out, I have become to understand a lot of their language, I have worked beside them and with them, I have met some good people and many bad. In the end what was shown on TV is were a lot of the people are heading, they are not here to live peaceful and productive lives, most of these people did not leave work or a job to attend the protest, our taxes payed for that in the way of Centerlink benefits.

They see us as infidels, they are here to take over and convert people by force if needed, they hide behind their religion justifying their violent behaviour and actions. Many have little respect for our laws, which again was shown on the news tonight.

Anyway, if it keeps going like this I really feel sorry for my kids. At least were I live now they are allowed to celebrate xmas and easter at school.

Maybe we can deport them all or put them in camps and liquidate them wholesale. Another group of people tried doing that in the 1940's, didn't work out that great for anyone involved.

Or do what we do best in this country, sit back let them injure our police, destroy our public property and pander to them some more.

How does the 1940's relate to Australia in 2012??? Bit of a long stretch isn't it?? So people acting like animals in Sydney streets in 2012 and there being a need to control these cretins with no respect somehow relates to an event in the 1940's:confused::confused:

Clutching at straws much????

Maybe be those identified to be involved should have their Centrelink benefits cancelled.

in some respect it does relate to the 1940's , but not in the way that you think . Hitler was a strong public speaker that was able to whip a nation into a frenzy ,pretty much the same thing that has happened here , a figure has come out saying" we mustn't stand for this " next thing you know a frenzied crowd is storming down the doors

Having lived in bankstown/lakemba for the last 20 years (the heart of muslims in sydney imo) i have seen my fair share of good and bad.

The problem here is the parents (extremist ones) do not ALLOW their children to integrate into the australian way of life. They go to a muslim school (theres a few around this area) are taught just like in catholic school about that particular religion.

I believe its the oldies who bring with them some of their old world values (good or bad) and enforce it in todays youth.
There were young children in that demonstration with signs!! WTF do their innocent selves know?
That is disturbing.

In 20 years time i forecast the sudanese being next on this list.
There have been punch ups between the lebanese and sudanese in the last year around the area as they (sudanese) move in.

The text message is thought to have been generated on a computer and sent out to thousands across Sydney.

"Emergency change of date it's on tomorrow!!! They have mocked him in pictures and now MOCKING HIM in a MOVIE WHY ARE WE ALLOWING THIS!!!! WHY ARE WE SILENCED ....WE MUST DEFEND HIS HONOUR.... Tomorrow 15.9.12 @ TOWN HALL STATION 1PM... WE MUST ACT NOW!!!!!!!!! Spread the word fast!!!" the message read.
