Me finishing back and bi's session today, db curling 20kg's for 8 sets of 12. Young kid doing curls with 30kg's. His arms 15, mine 21. You get the picture

thats exactly it dave!!

i didn't realise it was a legitimate exercise! (just shows how little i know and how much i've still got to learn!)
Barbell hack squats are great esp if you don't have a power rack. I used to do them all the time, not so much anymore.

Muahahahah...... Next time tell him squats will make his biceps grow. Then watch the puzzled look on his face.

Am I the only one who noticed this?

8 sets of 12? Fuck me that's a lot of volume for biceps! Then again, your 21 inchers HAVE a lot of volume, so maybe its justified :P

On back and bi's I do 30 sets of 12 total. 20 for back and 8-10 for bi's. Actually all my training now is about 26-30 sets of 12. Long workouts lol. My bi's where already spent from all the rowing :D

Curls in the squat rack is all I need :D. I also like to throw a ball at a wall in between sets, It helps with the lactic acid build up in my bizeps

As long as the 'ball' is a 20lb medicine ball and the 'wall' is a 10ft mark on the wall and you squat each time you catch it.

Very disturbing... PT's in my gym are of the same calibre.....

CRAP!!!!

Sorry to all those PT's who do not deserve to be painted with this same brush.... I know there are quality PT's out there...

Had a PT once line up on a bench press next to me.... I was following a program... Looked like the PT just wanted to make sure he lifted heavier then me... Kept raising his weight over the same as mine....

Anyway he had the worst form I have ever seen... With massive spotting going on.... And bounce of the bottom....

Long story short... Puts 140kg on bar and lifts it off... Spotter looking left at the time failed to help lift off...

Bar plummets straight to chest of PT and doesn't move... Spotter realises his PT mate is pinned to the bench... Spotter proceeds to deadlift the bar back into the rack....

LMFAO!!!!
No offence taken. Point understood, agreed upon and forgiven. The absolute best PT in my gym (from what I've observed) is all about quarter-squats with one foot on an aerobics step and a bungie cord tied loosely around the knees. At least he's actually involved in his sessions with his clients, unlike the PTs who just stand around giving no motivation, feedback or anything. But still...

Today I didn't see anything noteworthy other than some idiots standing way too close while I was doing my cleans. Bloody oathe I hate it when people do that.

Hi all, been stalking the forum for the past couple months, however what I overheard today could not go un-posted! I usually train at the PCYC nearby but it's closed for NY, so I bought a 2week pass to a 'gym'.

Whilst resting between deads today, I observed a guy (over weight Jason Donaven look-a-like) doing sets on the 'perfect squat' machine, which bottoms out on stoppers well before hitting parallel!! He had loaded up 80kg and was struggling to push out 6reps. Mind you he had just come from doing cable preacher curls so....

Mean while there's a young bloke doing squats in the rack and this bloke decides to give him advice on how he should be going lower and then tells him he has to start light and work his way up with weight (fair call).

The young asks, "how much can you squat", the over weight Jason Donavan replies, "5 plates either side so 240" (which is wrong lol). Young bloke "Wow, is that one rep"?

JD , "No, that's sets of twelve"!!!!

I laughed so much I had to leave the gym and finish my workout at home!!!
