Jono walked into the gym wearing skinny pants 7 weeks ago. First thing I said to him was they won't fit u in 8 weeks. He gave me a funny look. He weighed 67kg 5'9
Today he walked in and said he had to buy new jeans as the old ones didn't fit. He now weighs 72kg.
We hit 60 members yesterday (50 regulars. 10 remote who come in once a week or every 2 weeks due to travel). with a 40 member solid retention rate. With very little advertising. The members sell the gym through word of mouth.
Speaking to chris (moons) about the buisness plan for PTC syd as we accumulate more members. The price will rise to $1000 for full year coaching and training programs. Still much cheaper than paying a PT ($50-70 an hour).
Currently picking up min of 2 new members per week as its summer.
Will be looking at moving around the 100 (80 regulars mark) members and having chris open during the day. Most likely down the road. Will see how this all pans out over the next 6 months.
Alex a long time member of the ptc family left today to study sports science at a uni in perth.
I remember the day he came in when there used to be 3-4 members training and was very keen to touch the basketball ring.
I said ill help him get there. 12 weeks later he Was touching the ring and then some.
He then decided to quit his job at JB-HiFi and set his mind on becoming a S$C coach and make something of his life.
I have had only 3 long time members quit the gym. Mostly because they had outside factors. Its sad to see a long term member go as PTC unlike other gyms is a "family".
Speaking to him about it the other week he said after talking to some people, they recommended Perth because the uni had quality staff involved in the program.

Edith Cowan is a hobo uni. If I was going to do sports science I'd go to Murdoch. No idea how it compares to rest of Australia stuff or whether it's worth moving interstate for.
Big Raymond came to PTC syd last saturday to join up with and get some tips on his deadlifts and to compete at PL.. he only has trained at commercial gyms for the last year. Here he is pulling 250kg. Just needs work on the setup.
