new and keen

Yep, I agree with BigJim on the 21s, they are not a good exercise for muscle hypertrophy, they are almost a aerobic exercise if anything. they remind me of crossfit style training, good for GPP/conditioning but not for growth.

Thanks for all the advice. And the tip about 21s

I'll start the new exercise free exams and keep this thread going once I make some gains :)

a few more days, exams will be over i can go back to a healthy eating, 3-4 day a week training and a clean room without it looking like a filthy library haha...

Just a tip i would never take advice from anyone who isnt built like a god and then always take it with a grain of salt.So i wouldnt listen to these guys.Id go get the bodybuilding encyclopedia by arnold schwarzenegger, read it front to back every day.And train exactly how he and dozens of other pros including lee priest recommend you train.Dont listen to jokers on these boards who have never built any muscle and never will.

The other side of the coin is are you as advanced as the pros
Do you take as much gear as the pros
Do you have as good genetics as the pros,
Do you have the same goals as the pros
If no, why would you train like them.

So your saying you require a correlation between how someone is physically built as to weather you would take their knowledge? Let me guess because Jay Cutler eats 8 times a day, that is the only way to do it?

Why is it that all these 'pro's' have nutritionalists that look like shit (not that they are even that educated)?

The most knowledgeable people in the industry do not have epic physiques, why because that is not their individual goal etc. Look at it like this, all the sprinters have old, half dead dudes who don't look like they could even walk little lone run, yet they are coaching them who to sprint. Why because knowledge supersedes everything else including physical appearance and sporting ability. There is the RARE occasion that the greatest athletes become the greatest coaches/managers, but look around the world of sport and name the great coaches who used to to champions in that sport. Not many if any!

Knowledge>physique/physical ability.

you sir are an idiot.

reading the same book back to front everyday would be quite boring wouldn't it?

brb training like a pro ... 20 sets for biceps. brb beginner training like a pro... 20 sets for biceps...

Im guessing you think Dave Tate has no idea. What about Lyle Mcdonald, he must have no idea as well?

Bit rich calling guys on here Jokers.
Most are decent knowledgable dudes and those that aren't try their best.

So who exactly are the "Jokers" again?

Sorry i couldnt respond sooner i was at the gym.

So to address your concerns.
1: I do believe this website is called "Australian BODYBUILDING" not australian athletes. So if he wants to be a body builder why not train like one?Jump in the deep end and dont be a freakin pussy like the guys above who all quite frankly look like meth heads. When i started out i got the bodybuilding encyclopedia by arnold schwarzenegger and read it every day. I and my friends trained by doing every exercise in the book for every body part every day of the week sometimes 3 times a day.So If he wants to be a meth head looking crack baby go for it. Listen to these skinny ass jackoffs. If you want to be built like the greats TRAIN LIKE THEM and LISTEN TO THERE ADVICE!!! Not some jerk who has and never will win any body building title.

Mate if you have an opinion on how one should train that's fantastic and we love to hear it, but calling guys you have never met "jackoff's", "jerks" and pussies show you have no class and are a loser.

Grow up and show some respect.

Have you won a bodybuilding title? If not then why should anyone take your advice to do something Arnie did not do in the beginning to start his great physique off.

Well the proof is in the pudding. In a year i will put on another 4 kg of pure lean mass in a year youl look the same.Guess who i took my advise from?Guess who you took yours from? But really when it comes down to it if you train like a freak and eat like a king your going to grow to an extent. And yes i have won a few minor comps but im working my way up.But the only advise i gave was to read and take advise from "PROS" and or people built like them. You dont have to win a title to be a great bodybuilder.

Would you take advise on how to do heart surgery from a plumber??? No then why take advise for Shrek who cant even hit a rear lat spread and is a proclaimed by himself on his own account as a "Bumb"? Or Dave whos occupation is
Master of Exercise Rehabilitation Student
or MaxBrenner whos occupation is a Nerd
or LMD1234 whos occupation is a Student???
These people are not body builders they are WANNA BE's and they never will be bodybuilders of any caliber ever!!! PROVE ME WRONG!!!
Take advise from the pros kid not a bunch of posers.

every exercise in the encyclopedia, for every body part, every day, sometimes 3 times a day?
you must have phenomenal recovery!
was that assisted? or you have freak genetics?

or are you saying thats how you started, but not how you train now? (that you know better?)

Hi oldcorollas

ya when i started out i was so keen id spend all day in the gym sometimes id cart that big book from machine to machine exercise to exercise sometimes id even sleep in the gym on the situp mats.Me and my mates would wait outside in the rain for the gym to open and we would just train all day. After a while your body gets used to it.sometimes i take 2 or 3 days of a week and sometimes i take 2 weeks of if im feeling run down. These days cause of work as a pt i have to workout a little less but i still smash it 5 or 6 hours a day sometimes at midnight ill go down if i cant sleep and hit it till the sun comes up.Its a life style. Some people drink somepeople shoot smack i chase the pump.

serious question/s..
are you training for size, strength or endurance?
with so much "on time" when do your muscles get a chance to recover and actually grow?

I train for the pump thats it.These days im thinking a little more about size as i would like to hit 118kg in the next year or two but basiclly im a junkie all i care about is getting my vains popping and the blood pumping into every muscle.I could care less about anything else.People can keep all the crap i eat well i train hard and i take time of if i feel run down.I know it sounds lame and boring but being on a pump nearly all day every day is a rush and well worth it.
