CAPO National titles

One of the things you should be aware of.

When reducing, the goal should be to not spend very long at a reduced bodyweight, the longer you do, the weaker you get.

I thought the idea was to time it for weigh in time, not the day before.

Nobody from PTC did any weight reduction for this comp. The goal is to lift more weight each time you compete.

Your only competing against yourself.

Anyway, we'll be leaving at 7.30am tomorrow to start lifting at 9.00pm.

Went down and seen some INSANE teenage lifting, heaps of WR's were broken. The highlight for me was Gregs 332.5kg squat, which he did so, so, so easy.
Ill let Markos give the full run down though, I was only there for an hour to weigh in.

Just came from the comp, working this morning and tomorrow, have to see my wife for a change tonight, so could just get in to see the women squat. That's okay, that's what I was most interested in.

The equipped lifters were a definite minority, they really stood out with their Pinocchio walks. There was I think only one equipped woman, I guess she'll win her div ;)

Some strong women there, the PTC women are doing themselves proud. Dodgy judging, though, some high squats given three white lights - none of the PTC women. My trainee was very inspired, she stayed after I left, and will I think go tomorrow, too.

So far some good lifts for ptc. Darryl, Nathan and James all walked away with world records. Max held the world record in the squat but it was beaten during the comp intact the world record in the squat was broken 4 times today in the teenage 82.5 class. Great comp. Spiros walked away with some Australian records. The girls are currently deadlifting and all the girls have walked away with at least an Australian record and Nina has a world record.

Tomorrow we have 3 locals repping ptc and 3 QLD boys putting on the ptc shirt. Matt(advan), Michael ( 180sxkid) and Scott (sticky) should do us proud.

We will try :D.
It was good to meet you mate, and dim, and - well everyone from PTC.

Kyle, matt and myself must have just missed you, we left to go get food just as the girls started squatting. We ended up at the casino :p.

My back has been giving me grief fonthe last 3 weeks, but matt just me some deep heat stuff, I did some streches that NPR recommended, and it seems to be coming good.

So amped for tomorrow now that my back is feeling better!

Oh other highlights for my 2nd stint. Paul nay with a 275kg? bench. And a guy named Terrance I think, in his 50's, a doctor, talking to the bar with each lift. Oh did I mention they were well over 330kg deads lol. Bloody impressive lifting :).

Some results so far, on the left previous total, on the right this weekend

Vicki........ 220kg............242.5kg
Nina........ 257.5kg......... 267.5kg
Annie........277.5kg.........292.5kg

Daryl....... 420kg.............460kg
Max......... 487.5kg..........500kg
Nathan..... 375kg............inj, didnt push it, 4 x WR lol
Dim.......... 420kg
Kelly........ 565kg
James...... 400kg.............435kg
Fat Dave...485kg

Spiros totaled 580kg after only 8-10 weeks of training.

Highlights, James squatting 150kg and deadlifting 200kg.

Watching 4 x teenagers in the 82.5kg go from 500kg to 532.5kg, the WR was 460kg. All 4 shattered every world record in the class. Awesome lifting. Ryan, Mitchell, Michael and Max are a very strong little group of lifters, each pushing each other to bigger lifts. Max took 231kg for a WR deadlift so Mitchell took 232.5kg after Michael couldnt get 230kg to his knees. Max was redlighted for hitching after he stood up with it, but Mitch pulled it all the way. This went on the whole comp. There is not another class like it. Like Sean said, I think all 4 had the squat WR at one stage.

Annie pulling 140.5kg for a WR 4th attempt.

Vicki pulling 115kg for a sub masters record on a 4th attempt.

Everything Greg Gordon did.

The camaraderie between all the girls, it was amazing, Helen, Katrina, Yasmin, Karen, Maryanne and all the others was special, Nina and Vicki commented on how helpful and friendly each girl was.

Awesome to hear. Wishing I could be there now.

Today I did a 134m bungee jump then did some training. Benched 130kg reverse grip and squatted up to 160 to test the back. The guy who soptted me on the bench said he reckons I should try powerlifting. He lookedat me funny when I said I should be powerlifting right now!

I was there for a while today- saw the first 3 lift session. Great comp- awesome atmosphere. Unfortunately had to leave just as the big guys were starting.

Your going to have to move up Nick.

Tom deadlifted 300kg in your division, to go along with his other monster lifts, but Jason Durbridge weighing in at 107kg is from another planet.

Lifting raw, he squatted 305kg, benched 200kg and deadlifted 340kg, all the while looking like a bodybuilder, which he used to be.

Easily the best lifter at CAPO.

When we get the footage up of Derek Boyers 345kg opening deadlift, you will see possibly one of the most impressive scenes from a powerlifting comp ever.

They were playing Thunderstruck, all the while Derek was staring at this bar, the crowd was going nuts, the volume was up to 11, the entire place was going mad. He milked it and waited for the best [part of the song, before effortlessly pulling the weight.

Unfortunately Derek pulled a muscle in his forearm so he left his total on 880kg. He was looking to pull 365kg as a minimum for 900kg.

It was the highlight of the comp.

Gawain Johnstone, a freak, totaled 900kg equipped.

He squatted with just wraps, deadlifted raw and benched with a shitty single ply shirt.

He is just 24yo and 161kg lol

His 340kg deadlift was just as electric as Dereks, the footage will be stunning.

Anyone there will NEVER forget the deadlift session.

Billy from Elite broke a WR in the open raw section with a 347.5kg at 109kg, absolutely stunning lifting from a gentleman.

Sean Bostock benched 335kg, another class guy.

awesome day today as markos has said the last dead lift session was something special. Gawain Johnstone is somthing else. he didnt even looked maxed out in most his lifts... I believe he will be toalling 1000 in the near future.
i was relatively happy with my results totaling 518.5 @66.95 bwt.. over all great day great environment.

Michael (180sxkid) broke a raw open mens and junior world record with a 216kg deadlift at 67.5kg.

Seriously, how ****ing good is that.

I dont think he knows he has the Open Men WR as well.

That is just sensational.
