2012 London Olympics

I think the Aussie swim team, due to historical performance, get a bit cocky tbh. Thats usually where most of our 'gold medals' come from & they've gone into the Olympics getting blown out of the water by swimmers from France, U.S. & China???

Dawn Fraser & Laurie Lawrence are in the midst of the biggest shock & awe campaign of their lives right now lol

Ah well...you win some, you lose some...

I did kinda have a fleeting pang of sympathy for Nick Darcy, an opportunity to slightly redeem himself....was trodden on, shat on & smashed up.

Its sad, that as a competitive athlete, he shall be forever remembered, not for his swimming ability, but for a drunken brawl that ruined some elses life.....& his own actually.

Time for fresh blood in the Oz swim team with a view to possibly recruit some chinese 16 year olds lol

P.S. the Olympics is worth waiting 4 years for, just to hear the name 'Dick Pound' imo :D

what did the mens 4 x 100 metre relay team nickname themselves - "the weapons of mass destruction". weapons of self destruction maybe. Overconfidence sadly!

i think the weapons of mass destruction was something the media came up with

Media expectation has been part of the problem, they have be hyped up about how many golds we are going to win etc etc..

Beijing it was from the media 'OMG look how awesome Australia is doing etc etc"

this time around it's expected to win gold, expected to win gold

can't wait for Damon Kelly to compete next Tuesday isn't it. Love watching the super heavyweights - the bar bending bouncing of their chests, their guts hanging out all over the place - FANTASTIC STUFF!
