Islamic Council of Victoria secretary Graith Krayem said he was disappointed that police had jumped to conclusions so quickly.
"I heard and I saw the press conference with the police last night and I'm a little disappointed. I think it was a little too preemptive. The police have come out very clearly and almost have said it's all the young man's fault," he told radio station 3AW.

On triple M this morning 3 people wrote in, one said it was racist of the cops. Another said shoot first ask questions later, typical Victorian police.

What don't people understand you physically harm an officer doesn't matter who you are you're getting laid out with a new chest cavity.
 
Exactly.. take out the ISIS chit.. If he was just a random in the street off his meds, he would be dealt with the same way and rightly so.
 
The people protesting this should also be shot, in my opinion. It's pretty clear that it was a last resort. The federal cop was in a critical condition for fucks sake. I'll bet if it were just some junkie nobody would question the cops actions...
 
How hard is it to work out that if you run at two kunce armed just with a shank and they both have guns, capsicum spray, tazors and batons that chances are it's not going to end well for you....

OK. This all points to what a number of members here have pointed out. Instead of clear condemnation of these sorts of terrorist acts, the muslim community is pulling on the reins.

I put to you, gentlemen and women of the jury, that had a member of the public, lets say, ummmm. a hindu radical, walked into a muslim social function and stabbed someone, then there would be all sorts of uproar. But all we are getting is a bit of hand wringing about how "tragic" it all is.

Oh, and that the "young man" is innocent until proved guilty. OK. Well, sometimes in a clear cut case, you gotta run with the facts. I agree that we need to wait for a final coroners report, but I don't think many people were doing that at the Nuremberg trials. It was pretty self evident.

Methinks that the call for a final verdict is just watering down the obvious. Yes, we need a clear verdict but for the sake of the families of those police and those other police that had to deal with it, it's not very helpful to suggest that they were even partly at fault. Kinda seems a bit kuncey. No offence to the Kunce Squad.

not sure its a case of just latching onto something. plenty of youths want to be part of something and latch onto an idea, rarely involves stabbing cops though
