Insight on steroids

Fair statement, the dude that looked like he was gonna cry was switched on, the fat supp specialist has no idea about if white flood is legal supp. The other shit about body image wasn't too bad, although I can't really relate

I laughed pretty hard at the endocrinologist stating BBers dying from caffeine. BRB making sure workouts don't have 2grams of caffeine in them.

Yeah the caffeine quotes...farken.
That kid was taking too many supps :p ...IMO.
Something wromg with his diet if he felt he needed All of them? Maybe he reads tnation??? Supps have their place, but that many for an enthusiast?

The body image stuff was very relevant. I see it every day...one of my mates still thinks he's "fat" answer we measured his bf @ 9%..

I agree with that comment above too, likely be more roid use from this rather than less.

Have not read through this whole thread but prob what Iam going to say all you agree with...what a load of shit show....it was a joke from start to finish...my gf was like turn the chan over your getting to mad LOL....

What sort of place is Aus honestly....from the sounds of what they were saying you shouldnt be doing weight training, just a run and eat like a "normal" person...whats a normal person eat like in aus? no breakfast, sandwich for lunch, and take away for dinner? with 7 coffees in between that....fuarrrrrrrk these guys are training and eating alot better than 95% of aus and they were still getting the shit kicked up them..and that dude talking about a balanced diet...fuck id love to see what he eats...

Honestly another peice of shit...the media once again has brain washed the general public...

And Joe Public will lap it all up as it gives him another excuse to sit on his arse all day and eat like a 'normal' pig.

Well, it's all gone to hell in a hand basket and gone too far for any reversal.

If you go to the feeding trough at any shopping centre how many people look healthy.
Like vibrant, athletic?

You cant do anything right in this soft country of ours....I cant believe they were pretty much having a go at guys for training...like fuarrrrk we are the fattest or 2nd fattest country in the world now and we have shows like that...that pretty much support "normal" eating and all you need is to go for a run or a walk....its a joke...gives me the shits big time...

If I was one of those dudes I would of said so what I am doing is wrong when bloody X% of aus is overweight...I would of said have some fucking respect for what I am doing or dont invite me on the show and make out I am some sort of weirdo for going to the gym...

I dont wanna sound like an asshole, but did you notice the chicks that said girls dont care about body image were not attractive. The hotter more shallow chicks would strongly disagree to some extent.

me and my gf noticed that aswell...of course they dont care what guys look like....they will take what they can get lol...

More often than not a women is attracted to a man, that in fact looks and is built like a man.

I reckon I can tell the difference between a bloke that has built strength through hard labour and exercise compared to a desk jockey that regularly works out in a gym.

Boys can I add? (I will anyway) lol

For that wanker in the audience to say it's pressure from 'women' to look good though?? That's bullshit.

It's ego. Plain and simple.

Do people, in general look better when they're fit and healthy and vibrant and strong? Sure. Absolutely. And WAY more appealing to the majority of human beings. And there are extreme enthusiasts in each camp - girls who will ONLY date muscle bound men and the girls who buy into the stereotype and think they're all wankers?

Speaking for myself, attractiveness is completely subjective?? It depends who's looking at you. For me, sure some physical attraction is important - but at the end of the day, I really just need to know, that the man I'm with - is a good man.

Simple as that.

Most of the men I've been with - even at my heaviest weight, were physically very fit men. The first guy I dated, who became my lover after I returned to Australia from 12 years abroad was an absolute gym junkie. I weighed about 130kg when I met him out one night and he thought I was the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen??? (Which freaked me out, but this was more my problem with self image/esteem issues - than his)

More recently, I've met a bodybuilder who wants to date me and he is massive. And I mean, built as shit. I would never go out and actively seek a man with that kind of physique? It is an extreme of physicality.
And yet he too, thinks I'm very attractive, just the way I am?

The interesting thing is, goodlooking, lean girlfriends of mine have seen pictures of him and said "Omg, yuck, he's a freak"

Which I find interesting and curious to be truthful???

His body, is amazing. Many years of hard work, dedication and commitment have gone into maintaining that physique, sure. But it's not his body I think is lovely....it's the traits he possesses and what he believes in, that builds and 'keeps' that body - that I find so attractive?

Commitment, dedication, hard work, tenacity, perserverence, strength of mind?

And my friends judge him....and yet his friends would likely consider me a fat arse?
lol

Physical attraction is subjective and open to perception. I don't feel pressure to look a certain way by any external influence - just myself.

Sure the media hypes up muscle bound aesthetically pleasing physiques for men.
It also hypes up incredibly skinny women, with big boobs.

Neither are achieveable or sustainable by the vast majority of the population?

Everybody judges everybody else. It's human nature. But you're judged for being too fat, too thin, not pretty enough, not handsome enough, not enough muscle, too tall, too short, you wear glasses, your bald, stretchmarks, no arse...the list goes on and on and on....

The more insightful question is - how do you judge yourself? And where did that standard of 'beauty' or 'attractiveness' come from?

Love what ya got and love where your'e going! What anyone else thinks, matters for naught.

The End :)

I have to agree - its gone beyond looking good for chicks....if anything your trying to look good/big for guys...which comes back to ego....the guys I know that are big couldnt give a shit about girls or if they think they look good...its purely an ego thing...

Sticky, I have not as yet. But will :)

Am in the process of trying to find a decent gym in my area. SNAP Fitness was a let down, which is a shame, because it's SO close to home and would have been convenient.

I'm training on my own at present and have been for the last 12 months, all cardio at 5am, every morning.

I didn't want to bother to create a journal until I'd started strength/weights training to build up my lean muscle mass. And that will happen once I've found a decent gym.

I'm on it ;)

The best gym is the one you will stick to.

Most people never find their perfect gym, whether it be because they are scared or have high expectations.......

The point is, find one, get stuck into it.
