AUSBB Strength Record Board

SQUAT DOUBLE BODYWEIGHT 1.72 x BW
SQUAT 1.5 TIMES BODYWEIGHT X 20 1.35 x 20
BENCH PRESS 1.5 TIMES BODYWEIGHT 1.37 x BW
BENCH PRESS BODYWEIGHT X 10 Haven't tried yet but reckon I'd go close
DEADLIFT 2.5 TIMES BODYWEIGHT 2 x BW
POWERCLEAN 1.2 X BODYWEIGHT .93 x BW
15 DEAD HANG WIDE GRIP CHINS x 14
CLEAN & PUSH PRESS BODYWEIGHT X 5 .79 x BW x 5
STRICT STANDING MILITARY PRESS BODYWEIGHT .79 x BW

Bit of work to do. Reckon I'll get the chin and bench presses first.

Has anyone done all of these yet Markos?

Max

SQUAT DOUBLE BODYWEIGHT 2.4 x BW
SQUAT 1.5 TIMES BODYWEIGHT X 20 1.78 x 20
BENCH PRESS 1.5 TIMES BODYWEIGHT 1.50 x BW
BENCH PRESS BODYWEIGHT X 10 15 reps
DEADLIFT 2.5 TIMES BODYWEIGHT 2.9 x BW
POWERCLEAN 1.2 X BODYWEIGHT 1.64 x BW
15 DEAD HANG WIDE GRIP CHINS x 22
CLEAN & PUSH PRESS BODYWEIGHT X 5 8 reps in 1 minute
STRICT STANDING MILITARY PRESS BODYWEIGHT .97 x BW

He has done them all bar the military press. I think Kelly may have done them all, not too sure about the squat 1.5 x bw, he only benches and deads at PTC, plus he doesnt like reps lol

Aside from Kelly and Max though, Alen would be next closest, he may miss a couple like bench 1.5 x bw, C&PP bw x 5,

Another thing. Quite often lifters claim that Max can squat double bodyweight easily because he is so light.

He first squatted double bodyweight when he weighed 55kg, a 110kg PB that was witnessed by a few lifters at PTC.

He is now 75kg and has squatted 175kg, so he is now 25kg OVER double bodyweight. As he gets heavier, the ratio improves. He will squat 200kg @ 82.5kg, an even better ratio.

At his first PTC comp, he deadlifted 140kg @ 61kg, thats 2.29 x bw, in NSW he deadlifted 212.5kg @ 72kg, thats 2.97 x bw.

He benched 65kg @ 61kg, thats 1.06 x bw. He now does 110kg @ 73kg, thats 1.5 x bw

So being light isnt the reason, being strong is.

If being light was why he could do that, his ratio would get worse, not better, as he got heavier

Haven't even tried most of these and I don't ever max out raw- this is as good as I have done so far (or haven't done).

SQUAT DOUBLE BODYWEIGHT- I have done 2.3xbw for a 2 reps
SQUAT 1.5 TIMES BODYWEIGHT X 20- haven't tried
BENCH PRESS 1.5 TIMES BODYWEIGHT- I have done 1.6xbw for 3 reps and 1.7 for 1
BENCH PRESS BODYWEIGHT X 10- no video, but I have done 1.3xbw for 10reps
DEADLIFT 2.5 TIMES BODYWEIGHT haven't done this since I was 110
POWERCLEAN 1.2 X BODYWEIGHT- haven't tried
15 DEAD HANG WIDE GRIP CHINS- haven't tried
CLEAN & PUSH PRESS BODYWEIGHT X 5- haven't tried
STRICT STANDING MILITARY PRESS BODYWEIGHT- no video

there is a ceiling to when he's ratio will get worse. you can see it in the olypmics. and ive seen graphs and stuff stay that about 90 kg is usually optimal for the strength/weight ratio.

Your probably right haz. Lets look at Chris - 93kg

SQUAT DOUBLE BODYWEIGHT 2.2 x BW
SQUAT 1.5 TIMES BODYWEIGHT X 20 1.5 x 20 (in his journal)
BENCH PRESS 1.5 TIMES BODYWEIGHT 1.80 x BW
BENCH PRESS BODYWEIGHT X 10 22 reps
DEADLIFT 2.5 TIMES BODYWEIGHT 2.94 x BW
POWERCLEAN 1.2 X BODYWEIGHT 1.29 x BW
15 DEAD HANG WIDE GRIP CHINS easily
CLEAN & PUSH PRESS BODYWEIGHT X 5 7 reps
STRICT STANDING MILITARY PRESS BODYWEIGHT easily

These were lifts done in one day at PTC, he lives in QLD.

Strong is strong, stop making excuses, he weighs over 200lbs and is over 6' tall. Again, all this done in a singlet and board shorts.

The key thing with Max, Kelly, Chris is that they are all very lean. If you are fat, most of it is only useful in the squat, added weight is not always functional.

they weigh 75 - 85- 93kg...a good spread of most lifters.

Nick is 107 -110kg

SQUAT DOUBLE BODYWEIGHT 2.0 x BW
SQUAT 1.5 TIMES BODYWEIGHT X 20 1.5 x 20
BENCH PRESS 1.5 TIMES BODYWEIGHT 1.40 x BW
BENCH PRESS BODYWEIGHT X 10 12 reps
DEADLIFT 2.5 TIMES BODYWEIGHT 2.57 x BW
POWERCLEAN 1.2 X BODYWEIGHT 1.2 x BW
15 DEAD HANG WIDE GRIP CHINS x 18
CLEAN & PUSH PRESS BODYWEIGHT X 5 4 reps in 1 minute
STRICT STANDING MILITARY PRESS BODYWEIGHT .93 x BW

He does pretty good considering his weight.

Yeah, i've done all of them. I did 135kg x 20 @ 83kg a while ago.

my results

SQUAT DOUBLE BODYWEIGHT = 2.18 x BW
SQUAT 1.5 TIMES BODYWEIGHT X 20 = 1.63 x 20
BENCH PRESS 1.5 TIMES BODYWEIGHT = 1.92 x BW
BENCH PRESS BODYWEIGHT X 10 = 24 reps in 1 minute
DEADLIFT 2.5 TIMES BODYWEIGHT = 3.23 x BW
POWERCLEAN 1.2 X BODYWEIGHT = 1.31 x BW
15 DEAD HANG WIDE GRIP CHINS = x 21
CLEAN & PUSH PRESS BODYWEIGHT X 5 = 7 reps in 1 minute
STRICT STANDING MILITARY PRESS BODYWEIGHT 1.08 x BW

I should be close to most by years end, but so far,....

SQUAT DOUBLE BODYWEIGHT 1.74 x bw
SQUAT 1.5 TIMES BODYWEIGHT X 20 1.1 x 20
BENCH PRESS 1.5 TIMES BODYWEIGHT 1.67 x bw
BENCH PRESS BODYWEIGHT X 10 20reps then stopped, can do 1.25bw x 10
DEADLIFT 2.5 TIMES BODYWEIGHT 2.16 x bw
POWERCLEAN 1.2 X BODYWEIGHT 1.06 x bw
15 DEAD HANG WIDE GRIP CHINS 13
CLEAN & PUSH PRESS BODYWEIGHT x 5 Havent tried but easily do singles
STRICT STANDING MILITARY PRESS BODYWEIGHT 0.90

if its one clean and 5 pp i could do that at bw, if its 5 cleans and 5 pp that may be a struggle.

(They are all based on my current sqishy 72kg bw)

pullups i will have very soon. 2 more

power clean I will have soon with a bit of practice. need 11kg

squats need 20kg,
deads need 20kg,
mp needs 7kg (not easy to find)
bench i should have 1.5 x 10 by years end easy

I could loose 3-5kg of gut fat as well, but I am enjoying eating too much...

So you can do 2 out of 9 currently.

The C&P is 5 cleans and 5 presses.

This is a tough challenge, but a worthy pursuit.

One which i will try to accomplish.. I have definetley improved since this thread started, and a few more lifts definetley look acheivable in the short term, all should be acheivable with in the year..

The clean and pp, will be tough now, but once i get into them some more it should come together very quick. I just need more practice on my technique, mainly getting under the bar, currently I feel I am still doing a power upright row, very little drop under.

It WILL happen..

I'd aim for 250kg first, but what would I know?

Adding 80kg to your pull will not come without adding 50-70kg to your squat.

Can you see yourself squatting 250kg in 12 months?

Small steps equals big totals

Thats allright mark my words 12 months from today i will pull a 300kg deadlift..

As Markos said small steps to big totals. Before you pull 300 you should aim for 225.

If I only add 10kg a year to my bench and 15 each to my dead and squat for the next 5 years I'll be going 295/200/350 for an 845 total.

Staying uninjured and simply making small steps will get me, and you, where we want to be.

I don't really max out raw and don't video much of my lifting. All my raw lifting is with a belt and wrist wraps for squat and bench.
My best raw squat in the gym is 320, best raw bench 240, best raw deadlift 295.
As far as video evidence goes- this is all I have:

squat at 125kg bodyweight- 290kg x2
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3KFAMOQkvuA]YouTube - raw squat.wmv[/ame]

a bench from almost 2 years ago- 220kg x1
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ee3PavPcVVM]YouTube - 220kg bench[/ame]

SQUAT DOUBLE BODYWEIGHT
SQUAT 1.5 TIMES BODYWEIGHT X 20
BENCH PRESS 1.5 TIMES BODYWEIGHT
BENCH PRESS BODYWEIGHT X 10
DEADLIFT 2.5 TIMES BODYWEIGHT
POWERCLEAN 1.2 X BODYWEIGHT
15 DEAD HANG WIDE GRIP CHINS
CLEAN & PUSH PRESS BODYWEIGHT X 5
STRICT STANDING MILITARY PRESS BODYWEIGHT

The squat needs to be below parallel
Bar must touch your chest on every rep of bench press
No swinging on the chins
Zero leg drive on the military press

Video proof required. Seeing as I'm not entering, I can judge anyone that wants to come to Frankston to have their lift verified. If you do the lift at PTC, you get on my board as well.
