Anyone do the Arnold Blueprint?

Brick, I never said anything wrong with Arnold's approach; it obviously works. I know many guys who still use it and get results.

I just offered a view that many ways to train to get overload to build muscle.

Post wasn't really directed at you mate, hence why I did not quote you.

Just an observation on the over complication of this thread in the last 2 pages.
 
I have one guy, used to bench 220kg and deadlift 320kg years ago, who swears by Arnold type training.

I suggested he only train once a day, which he tried, but he said it did not work for him. He has gone back to twice a day, six days per week.

What does this tells me? it is absolutely essential for a lifter to do what he or she enjoys most. Heavy, light, does not really matter if enough overload principles apply.

As long as you improve, no need to question much given that weight training is quite a basic activity where common sense should tell you whether or not you are improving.

he was geared, now clean and getting back into weight training after 20 years off. He is now 48.

When I say 220 bench, that was in training and probably not powerlifting strict.

I think he placed 3rd in one of the Mr Australia classes.
 
Geez. Still a strong kunce.

Fark'd if I could train twice a day (at intensity)... Dunno how the old guy was doing it. Even on gear.
 
I could not do it, too much work for me.

I am still trying to motivate to find 15m a day to stretch again.

I think he said best deadlift comp was 290kg and comp bench press was much less than in training.

At the moment, he does just 8 on 80kg bench, but he has bone one bone all over body and lost a lot by doing nothing and eating badly for many years. He can barely bend his legs to do half depth bodyweight squats.
