I'd also like to see the statistics reflecting car accident fatalities and death caused by knife attack.

Clearly the US need to arm the mentally unstable in care. Then this mornings shooting wouldn't have happened. While you're at it, have the 5 year olds at Sandy Hook been armed yet?

No what they need to do is install metal detectors with bulletproof barricades at every public venue and institution. Armed copper guarding the entrance of them too..

They're still not comparable to Australia, and how much good is it going to do when you're surrounded by states with more relaxed firearms laws and easier legal access to guns.

Before the lefties jump on board and yell abuse at me. Rather than jump to conclusions why not look at the issue first and see if the easy answer that everyone will be screaming is actually the correct one.

Califonia has has some of the lowest gun ownership in the states yet has much higher gun deaths than other states.

Some of the states with the highest gun ownership have the lowest gun deaths. Rather than just saying get rid of guns why not find out what those states with high gun ownership and low gun deaths are doing.

Im guessing the answers are not as easy as the experts on here think it is.

Plenty of other countries have a lot of firearms without the issues USA has. They have cultural issues and mental health issues are often involved in their incidents.

Also too many people think their right to bare arms was put there for personal self defence, but from memory it was to give them a means of overthrowing an oppressive government. They have people wandering around with loaded assault rises to prove a point without understanding it isn't helping them keep their right. If an amendment can give them that right then another one can take them away.

Maybe their poor education standards are an issue too, the most vocal of them seem to have trouble with basic comprehension.

there is a fine example of that in this thread.

I've had this experience:

Arizona, where almost everyone has and carries a weapon strapped to their leg while shopping at Walmart , has the friendliest and most polite and helpful kunce I have met anywhere.

Cross the border into California, where gun control is strict(er) , every kunce is rude and cocky, saw 3 punch-ons 10 days.

I felt a lot safer and welcome amongst the gun crazy Arizona kunce than in the gun controlled CA.

Just my experience and observation.

bazza maybe you need a fellow bogan to explain it to you.

So an Aussie comedian is who the US politicians should get its gun law advise from. And you try to insinuate that I'm the dumb one. I even said your crew would come on an insult me rather than add anything to the discussion and no surprise that's what you actually did. How about attacking the argument rather than the person for once.

I don't even think you read my post. In my my post I basically said rather than the knee jerk reaction why not get to the bottom of this gun problem and make sure the solution actually solves the problem. Do you not agree with this?

because your arguments are worthless. there is no one on here who gives a fuck what you think. do you really think people are interested in your ignorant views? funny how its the people on here who i would consider smarter than most are the ones always attacking you.. weird huh?

You're bumbling over yourself to race in and call me a moron.

here is a tip. Slow down, read my post, forget it's me posting and reply to what was posted.

I never even even slightly mentioned that others should have been armed.

My point was that some of the highest gun ownership states have very low gun deaths and it would be good to know the reason for this rather than rush in and say we need to ban all guns. Bit like how you rush in with your posts. Are you saying we shouldnt find out why some states have low gun deaths despite high gun ownership?

Where are these stats you're quoting from? There is conflicting information about this.

so my arguments are worthless but calling someone a moron is valuable to the argument.

Is a person who thinks calling someone a moron is a good insult let alone a valuable argument to add to the discussion the best one to be judging who is and isn't smart.

Notice how you avoided answering my question. Why were you attacking what I said. Do you believe we shouldn't get to the bottom of the gun problem?

your not adding anything to the argument. you just spout bullshit that you yourself dont even understand, all in an effort to sound smart. i will take you seriously when you talk about something i might actually believe you have a good understanding.

here is a good argument against gun ownership. oscsr pestorias.. if he lived in a country where hand guns were illigal do you think he would of still murdered her, or would he have maybe calmed the the fuck down a bit. except in the heat of the moment he snapped and shot her. my bet is, no gun, time to calm down, she isnt dead.
