Etihad claims 56,200 for the UFC, the highest recorded attendance at the stadium is around 56,700 for a game of thugby.

UFC 129 in Toronto at 55,700 is the highest crowd attendance they list.

I'd say it went pretty well.

Wrong. Max crowd at etihad 70,000 for some Jahova convention.

The the place wasn't even close to full. Was the record for UFC but not close to expected crowd. Fail.

You're right Baz, I only checked sporting crowds.

I didn't see the fight so I don't know how it looked.

What about Hunt V Bigfoot. Last fight Bigfoot would not go down. Now without gear drops with a punch that brushed off his head.

Since Bigfoot has come off he can barely stay concious.

Bad attitude and ego leads to sloppy conditioning, leads to no emotional control, leads to shitty boxing, leading to broken jaw and loss of title.
The fight starts in your head, not in the ring. Lose that and you have no chance

Obviously UFC doesn't draw enough of a crowd to fill the seats. Maybe they should have held it in your home town.

Isn't the official attendance figure supposed to be an all time record though? Wonder how they managed that if there were so many empty seats

As per onslaught's post.... Seems like it was a new UFC crowd record by about 500 but they could fit another 14k in the venue. Should have just shut down a few sections of the stands and allowed for 60k instead of trying to sell 70k tickets

Ooh yeah I get it now.. not too bad I spose, I mean it would be ambitious for the organisers to plan on beating the crowd record by 15K!

From where I was sitting, the stadium looked pretty full. The empty seats were all the shitty seating right up the top where you couldn't see anything. The other empty seats would be people too concerned with being at the bar than watching the actual fighting. Probably people who went for the sake of it and weren't fans. The empty seats in the stands were more than accounted for by the added ground seating.

The crowd attendance was 56,200. So the highest ever at a UFC event. For a sport not that well known here, it's pretty impressive.

But yeah, the uneducated Australian UFC attendees really fly their knob flag. Some seem surprised and annoyed when it goes to the ground. I don't see why they bother going.

Ronda/crowd at the weigh ins.

Also went to Doherty's gym a few times while in Melbourne. They had good variety in equipment, but a really awkward shape. I think it's a bit hyped up.

Funny how Ronda looked confused and didn't know what to do when things weren't going her way. Doesn't she have a Plan-B of attack?

Her coach is a funny man. How can he be in financial strife training the most famous sportswoman in the world haha..
