Re : Kelly in sunny N.T

Welcome aboard Kelly, fantastic of you to join us.

Thanks again Markos.

If you're reading this Kelly, I've read your 2,000,000-word essay/questionnaire, & will try-to put aside about 3-days to answer.! :D

But, seriously....OF COURSE I know who you are.! Spoke with you @ the Melbourne Nationals & watched most of your lifting. Hope all's well in the 'Top End', &, if you see Smithy (& crew...), tell 'em to GET back 'on-board' & start lifting again.!

:)

Legend.? Isn't that a some sort of Honda motor vehicle..?? :p

Thankyou for your compliment, although...I'm hardly a 'legend'. Try Laurie Butler for a closer definition of a 'Powerlifting Legend'...:)

I think we got 2 Legends on here, Adam and Steve, Im looking forward to Steve hitting 1000 Total next year or the year after!

1000kg Total.?

Which 'Steve' is likely to hit 1000kg Tl. in the near future please.? As I may be required to have him 'kneecapped' in order for him NOT to break the 960kg Total...HA HA HA HA HA HA..!!!! :D

But, seriously...which Steve is this.? Anybody attempting to break the 'Ton' MUST be a b****y good lifter.! :)

Stephen Pritchard about to smoke 375kg

Any lifter, regardless of bodyweight, who can total 2000lbs in a single ply squat suit, single ply shirt and single ply deadlift suit is unbelievably strong.

Adam and Steve have, as has Adam Pinkard and Odell Manuel from PA, and Ray Rigby and Fred Herman, both back in the 1980's, Dino Tocci in 1990, Clyde Holani, Chris Caltabiano, Paul Jordan, Robbie Carruthers

Adam - 2116lbs
Ray - 2094lbs
Fred - 2072lbs
Steve - 2072lbs
Adam - 2066lbs
Clyde - 2028lbs
Chris - 2028lbs
Dino - 2022lbs
Odell - 2019lbs
Paul - 2017lbs
Robbie - 2000lbs

To the best of my knowledge, they are the only 11 in Australia, Nathan Baxter has gone close.

Adam can correct me if I'm wrong

Chris Caltabiano - 2028 @ 110

Thank you Johnny, added.

Is 2000lbs gettable with just knee wraps in the next 2 years in Oz?

Jason Durbridge, Steven Pritchard, Derek Boyer, Odell Manuel, Gawain Johnstone?

Couple of others here Markos....

Cheers again Markos.

Couple more to add (from the OLDEN days....) :

Paul Jordan (2017.22lbs/915kg's, somewhere around 1985, possibly AAPLF National Titles.? 110kg Open Mens Division, past I.P.F World Mens Champ, ONLY Australian Male to EVER win Gold at an OPEN MENS I.P.F WORLD TITLES)

Robbie Carruthers (2000.69lbs/907.5kg, I.P.F World Junior Championships, possibly 1987, or thereabouts. Trained under Yuris Sterns, & was about 23 yrs. of age at the time, 125kg b'weight division...).

I thought Mason (Jardine..) & I had previously complied a list of Over-2000lber's on the official CAPO website, however, just checked & it doesn't seem to be there.?

There is, however, 2 x separate tables (in X.L.S. Format..) of the Greatest Lifters in Australian History, both on Glossbrenner & Reschel Formulas. Obviously, Laurie's epochal 892.5kg @ 90 is there, as-well-as Charlie Coleiro's staggering 702.5kg @ 67.5 (saw it done live ; still INDELIBLY etched in my memory.!).

These aren't 2000lber's, however, still absolutely STELLAR (& unlikely-to-be-beaten...) performances.!

Lets put some numbers around that

For me I can pretty well pull raw what I can squat in wraps so I'll base the figures on that...also as Adam has mentioned bench is generally around 20% of your total for ease of calcs I'll make it 22% or there abouts which gives us....

355/200/355

WOW!!

George McLaren went 320, 185, 350 raw at 160 at the comp at SS&S. And that was his first comp. he trains strongman. He could get close. you should try and get a hold of him for pro raw.

Thinking a little more about this...yes is certainly doable....based on a current total of 800kg (1765lbs ish) and assuming you increase your total every 14 weeks by 5% (which IMO is acheivable) means that it'll take 3 cycles which is 42 weeks.

Hi adam.
I train with Mason every so often so I can ask him when I see him next if you like. Would be great to see that list :)

Thankyou.!

Kool - thankyou.! Looks as though Markos has done most of the 'groundwork' ; may just need a little 'tweaking' to finalise. :)

Sorry Markos.....

I've seen the CAPO lists, no 2000lb list

Thanks Harry, I will send Pete a link

Thanks again Markos ; think I may be getting a little mixed-up with the All-Time Top Lifters on Glossbrenner & Reschel.

Looks about right....

infact based on the 5% every 14 weeks, you can do it in two years starting with a 680kg (1500lbs) total

Again, really just a case of straightforward mathematics. ALTHOUGH, may not be as easy-to-achieve in practice. As previously mentioned, ANY formula/projection can be altered etc., either prior-to commencement, or during the actual training cycle, to produce desired result(s). :)
