When training alone or at powerlifting gym, it's always metal - Death, Cannibal Corpse, Pantera, Type O Negative, Fear Factory, Destroyer 666 etc. The full stereotype. I like the loud, intense music goes well with a mind cleared of thought and a calmness before the lift (not into pre workouts, sniffing ammonia, back slapping and yelling etc). The music gets louder and more intense relative to the sets.

Training with my bro mates who like to muck around and pose etc, it's more hiphop like Necro, ICP, Kool Keith, Nas, Mobb Deep etc.

I find it very difficult to train without my own music.
Like your style

What music do you like to train too??? And why???
No music, no TV/music clips etc., and no radio. I rely on nothing external of myself, it's the safest and most reliable way to train in my opinion..., that means no mirrors either, as they too are an external aid or a reliance to one's training. I might be speaking more from an Olympic weightlifting point of view here with the last point re mirrors.

Sounds like a veritable meeting of intellectuals

Probably because powerlifters tend to train smarter than most ;)

Agree on mirrors Fadi; especially for squatting. I always train facing away from the mirrors in gyms that have them.

Haha yes but it still takes effort.
Ok make to the music.

Been listening to a bit of Weezer lately. Pretty cool.

I train to Gregorian chants, new age relaxation music and "sounds of the forest". I also never train on red weight machines, don't wear red underwear and avoid gyms with the Russian flag. I train focused on my inner self, which is handy if I have been eating too many dried figs.

I also avoid mirrors at all costs cos I am so awesome I get distracted, but if I have to squat in front of one, like bozodos I face away so that my butt is the focus of attention. After all, my arse is awesome.

What do you train like??
im guessing your a powerlifter

I don't really consider myself a powerlifter as I'm not currently a financial member of PA or competing, I'm doing one of Candito's meme programs at the moment because they work very effectively for me. Main lifts twice a week, 3x6/4x6 depending on whether it's heavy or pause day.

On topic though, Pantera's 5 Minutes Alone gets a lot of rotation in my playlist.
