Dips and Pull ups are hard to do, just like squats, especially for a beginner. But anyone can press a bar up and down (even if the technique is wack)

That's at full weight stack Bams, and Casey is using full range controlled exercise here, it's quite amazing.

The early original pullover is just a beast of a machine, the strength curve was perfect.

His work ethic and strength was scary to watch.

Yeah, I remember reading an awesome article on Jones and Viator ages ago. How Arnold trained there and couldn't handle it lol. If I remember where it was, I'll like it.

Do you know anywhere in Melb that has an original??

Also if that's full stack, why's the pin extend down alot further?

The bench press is an internationally known movement. Monday in gyms all over the world is Chest day (Except for Communist Russia lol). Think of how many YouTube bloopers you have seen with failed benches. There's a few with pullups, I can recall only 1 from a dip.

How many people here can bench bodyweight? Im guessing a big percentage.

On the flipside:

How many people can dip or pullup for 20 straight reps? Especially guys over 75-80kg?

How many people can do a dip or pullup with 50% of their bodyweight added?

For those I'd be guessing a lot less.

I can't bench BW at all ... well below

but I can BW dip for 40 reps before form starts to go

and dip BW + 25% for 20 reps.

they're very different exercises (depending on which dips you mean...chest vs tricep dominant .. I do the latter mostly).

Andy, have you got one of those pullover machines?

I've got a next generation women's pull-over which came after the 1st and 2nd gen.

They made the cams smaller after complaints that the original machines were too hard.

Not too many people could use a full weight stack on those older 1st and 2nd generation machines.

Did you buy it locally?
I keep an eye out on eBay occasionally

But would we say that its all related to bodyweight? Sure as hell dont think id get 40 dips in a row...id get well past 10 though no doubt. :p
But im also moving 94kg. Hehe.
Another 25% is close to 115kg! Lol.

relative strength vs absolute strength and proportion of BW in relative strength all make for what you can achieve in either I guess.

so yes, agree with you. I'm shifting just over 45kg so higher relative vs absolute for sure strengthwise.

Annoying you're part of the small benching percentage I mentioned in passing, but with Dips like that who cares. Awesome effort!

Me...... not on dips though.

Probably can't do 20 anymore at ~110.
