asca cert is boring as bat shit.. lots of theory..
goes into training movements and training diff types of athletes to a superficial level. (Level 2-3 go very in depth with AIS level clients)..
Not much specific programming is involved but at least u have to do 30 hours of gym time afterwards to get the cert. Unlike some certs where they just hand it out to you.
I recommend it if your new to strength conditioning or want to get into it..
Gotta get off my ass and do the level 2 this year.. some of the guys are advancing to the pointy end of the training pyramid very soon and gotta keep em advancing that way.
Heres what I didnt see in the gym today - me. I haven't done a workout for ages now, i honestly can't be stuffed anymore. I just don't have much of a reason/desire to be there. Is there a cure for this?
And on the rare occasion I do man up and go, my lifts have all plummeted from inactivity which doesn't help any.
two ~125lbers doing nothing but cheat curls, preacher curls and overhead cable triceps extensions (with full hip flexion, obviously)
one old guy that always seems to go into the gym, do 7 half reps with 1 plate on bench then leaves
luckily a new gym opened just down the road so all the nyrs have gone there
skinny kids following a larger guy around. Talking to him trying to make jokes with him during sets, hes a nice guy so he would laugh, but i knew he was getting pissed lol. I hate it when people try to talk mid-set to me. Or people talking around me mid-set.
