Markos is not going to re-invent the wheel guys.

Plenty of info on nutrient timing about.

Agreed and also little bit early to be excited.

So far the only test subject that Markos has told us about is Max an extremely active teenager who was a lean 80kg is now a leaner 75kg. Hardly earth shattering so far.

Now before anyone has a cry I'm not doubting Markos at all and I have no doubt he is gonna get some great results. But it's a little early yet to get too excited.

Spot on fellas

This diet is nothing like nicks diet

Very few litters decrease bodyfat and weight with increases in strength

Tonight Max equated 140kg x 11. It was his 5th day of squatting in a row

It's a PB

He did it for 2 sets

How many of you can squat everyday and hit pb's like that

Nutrient timing is the key in my opinion

Little Daryl squatted tonight

140kg x 10
140kg x 5
140kg x 10

His training is going very well training with Alen and Max. He is around 5kg heavier than he was at Nats.

Alen is slowly regaining his strength since his lay off of 3 weeks.

Max is currently 75kg, Daryl 74kg and Alen 84kg.

Dim is concentrating on bench squats. He is weaker, by a fair way, off a bench than regular squats. This is to a high 42cm bench. Most are much stronger. Jesse for instance squats 180kg off that bench, 50kg more than his PB. Max squats 230kg, again 50kg over his PB.

I think if we can get this weight over 140kg for Dim, his squat may start moving. Its definitely a weakness.

Maybe glutes, maybe hips, maybe hamstrings.

I do know making any lifter stronger in their weakest position will have a major carryover to the lift.

Diet looks interesting, sounds very similar to John Kiefers or Wes Silveiras stuff. Looking forward to it being 'tested' so it can be discussed.

Like Nick said, its nothing new. Nutrient timing has been around for a while.

Having the macro nutrients the body actually needs at the right time can be accomplished by any athlete with a little common sense.

Max is taking the year off competing (maybe) to do some experimenting with training and eating. He plans to be a Strength coach, who has even less patience for theories than me.

He has no dramas in experimenting and finding things out himself rather than rely only on the written word.

Nick dropped in for a session today, he pulled 180kg x 15.

The boys also had a go at cleans.

Jack got 90kg (PB)

Gareth got 100kg

Alen got 100kg

Nick got 100kg

Daryl missed 100kg

Max got 115kg

They also mucked around with the 80kg KB. Fun times lol

Had a new guy start tonight, looks a likely sort. Had only benched previously though, will take a few weeks to get up to speed.

Nick used to be much stronger than this. With work commitments, injuries and a new training enviroment, his lifts are down on circa 2009/early 2010.

Yesterdays session was a gem though, I think he was spent lol

Nick will be hard to beat at the Rep Challenge, look for over 100 reps to place.

Strong is strong

Well Alen, Max, Jesse and I went to the Hawthorn weightlifting Centre and picked up the Texas Strength System combo racks. We got 2 of them.

They were operating fine in the "out" position, a slight modification is being made by Alen for when a lifter wants the racks "in".

Some washers and tightening and they should come up really good.

This now gives us the ability to have 7 squat racks.

2 x power racks
2 x squat stands
2 x combo racks
1 x squat rack

The layout we will use is: Small room
2 x power racks,
2 x bench press,
1 x squat rack
2 x incline bench
3 x flat bench

Big Room
3 x 3m Lifting platform
1 x combo squat rack
1 x combo bench press
1 x deadlift "mat" set up
1 x heavy duty squat stands

Big thanks to Sean and Alen

I'm really pleased how the gym's coming along

The Monolift and deadlift bar have been put on hold for the time being

these the ones you get?
