Well, I know of at least the following lifters that will compete

Fat Dave
Dim
Adam
Brendan plus a couple of mates
8-10 from Albury

That will take it to 45

There are some out there who will sign up at the last minute

Currently the plan is

80kg - squat
95kg squat
80kg bench
95kg bench
80kg dead
95kg dead

110kg squat
110kg+ squat
110kg bench
110kg+ bench
110kg dead
110kg+ dead

Each flight will consist of a weight class.

This may change. It will depend on the mix of lifters on the day

It may end up that the flights are split up

women + 80kg
95kg
110kg + 110kg+

I honestly wont know till the day

exciting news on the numbers Markos...

I imagine there will only be a handfull of lifters in the two heavier classes so you can probably combine them into the one flight, but as you say you wont know until the day.

110+ is the only way to be. Also I just spent the best part of 2 hours driving round melbourne to find apollo. Found it, only to find it closed. Apparently ESP moved to a private warehouse and is only open for group sessions.

Markos I'd like to but I'm with the girlfriend and her family. It's already hard enough to explain why I need 2hrs in the gym let alone an hours drive each way.

This is an educated guess

Beach is across the street, shopping 100m away, its not like Apollos location

3 pubs 50m away

Just got back from Apollo. Sweet gym but all the EFS gear I wanted to play with has been moved to a private warehouse. Training with the ESP guys for max effort squats monday. Can't wait.

Sorry- I haven't kept up on this thread. Just catching up with some details:
Dave Park lives in Tassie. He is on facebook- thats probably the best place to contact him. He is a freak of nature. Very big- incredibly strong raw or equipped. I have trained with him a few times- amazing strength.
His 415 squat was at a comp at ESP under the OPO banner.

A couple of years back Apollo gym became the more commercial gym when they created a new extension named ESP- this is a strength specialist facility. Last year around June/July they expanded further relocating ESP to a large warehouse space and adding more equipment. There is no other space like it in Australia. Something like 800kg of competition ivanko plates- another 800 or so ivanko bumpers, 3 monolifts, competition benches- more power racks and machines that I can name my memory- but they have westside barbell and EFTS custom made stuff- like a back attack, belt squat, power squat etc etc.
They train powerlifters etc- but also Collingwood Football, Melb Storm- the Malaysia cycling team, many VIS athletes and more.

I spoke to MG saturday, didn't get the feeling that anyone was doing pro raw. They have some strong guys- some strong raw lifters as well, but I think they are aiming for other meets. They knew about it- but no one I spoke to was considering it.

I train mostly in my shed in my backyard- I haven't trained at ESP/Apollo since June 2010- but I catch up with Shaun, Marty, Chuck and some of the others a few times a month.
