There are different types of fatigue, namely: Local Muscular Fatigue, Neural Fatigue, Neuroendocrine Fatigue, and Environmental Fatigue. For the brevity of this small article and its intended purpose, I shall focus my attention precisely on muscular fatigue and neural fatigue.
High intensity training will have the largest impact on the central nervous system, and if not properly calculated and factored in, would lead your courage to become your number one downfall.
Experience has taught me that neural fatigue has a PhD in sneaking up on you with zero hint or warning. It’s like “BAM...the weight has just gotten heavier or it’s just not my day today!” This effect can get you during a single workout, (as I’ll be doing when front squatting), or it can get you at the end of a week or two. Hence, designing a program in advance is always better then regrets later on whenever you’re talking high intensity workouts.
Local muscular fatigue on the other hand is caused by higher volume and lower (not low) intensity work, leading to the greatest amount of muscle breakdown, simply tailored for bodybuilding.
