Female training-PTC style

eje, with a 60kg bench, you should look at competing. My girls would love to see a vid of that, give them some inspiration.

Sussy started training for States today

PTC, my brain has already jumped on and started chattering away on that path...
My bench is alright, i don't know why, all i do is slap my abs and say out loud "brace up, chest up". As you mentioned tho, the pause could present me with some new issues.
I am yet to try a single rep max...trainer says we arn't going to risk an injury for that at this stage, better to do more reps at slightly lower and really master each weight increment increase. How am I going to argue??? I can wait, I might get squashed without him.
It is my squat that is a much sadder story...62.5kg x 7
I think it is not a good thing for your bench to equal your squat is it?
I will try for the footage next big bench day, or maybe any bench day so I can get some feedback on form and you can get a picture of this strong little shrimpy in your head : )

Tell him I have a 15yo 78kg boy who deadlifts 170kg, he trains for soccer.

I have a 17yo 64kg boy who deadlifts 160kg, he trains for basketball.

I have an 18yo 67kg boy who deadlifts 180kg

Brittany deadlifts 145kg, 20yo and 72kg now.....female

Vicki, 39yo mother of 2, 57kg, deadlifts 117.5kg

I hear the injury theory a lot. I dont get it.

I have to admit, I dont ever see it either.

The owner of the gym you train at was at ProRaw with Paul, a BB friend of mine.

They watched hundreds of lifts, including Taylor Young bench 85kg @ 68kg and 56yo.

He didnt see a single injury benching. Taylor is a friend of his. She is a legend.

I saw taylors bench...are you serious, she is 56, no way.

"The owner of the gym you train at was at ProRaw with Paul, a BB friend of mine."
You know what gym I train at? Small world
I hope he didn't tell you how much noise i make while i'm lifting...it's becoming the joke of the gym, lol.

Your noise could not beat my client Gina, when she presses out in Tabata thrusters, by set 4 she's doing that puff-blurt-blubber donkeys do. It's hilarious.

At 48kg, she squatted 40kg 3x5 and rack pulled 55kg 1x10 today, and did Tabata thrusters with 6kg dumbells for 79 reps. A steady improvement from her.

I don't know Kyle, it's a triple story gym and they are hearing it on all floors apparently.:p
Yay Gina, hahaha, I know the one. I have the half panic version during leg press and squats in which towards the end of the set i want to pause and have minor hyperventilation attack while at the same time making whimpering injured animal noises until i talk myself calm, slow down the breathing and get out the final reps, thru which i 'raghhhh' at a volume that directly relates to the pain....then after, i tell my trainer i hate him and wander off for another 10 secs of personal whimpering before i recover and come back looking for more.
I am trying to learn to redirect the noise to the breathing and use it for bracing and power...

then after, i tell my trainer i hate him
It's amazing how normally polite women start spewing profanity during training sessions. Today with Gina's rack pulls, the first 3 went smooth, then she started thinking about each one and the bar just went "clunk" against the plates.
"Don't think, just a steady pull."
Clunk.
"Lift it!"
Clunk.
"You're not choosing between Brad Pitt and George Clooney, just LIFT IT!"
And up it went.
"Again! No waiting!"
I'd originally planned for her to do 2x5, but thought that if she stopped she might start thinking again and stuff it up, so when she hit 5 reps I said, "keep going!"
"Fuck you!" she said, but kept going.

Afterwards, "So that was you going Army-style on me?" she asked.
"Well, you said, fuck you, that's like an Army woman, if you want to act like an Army woman, I'll treat you like one." She laughed.

Seriously, I get no respect.

Kyle, that is our way of showing respect... that and the fact that after we say fuck you and other colourful delights, we smile at you 5 seconds later.
I always ask "how many you want?" and no matter what he says, i know he will add 2 torturous extras and i know i will give them to him.

nah...Brisso girl. If I lived in Frankston or down that way, I would be with training with you PTC.

Markos, I introduced some of mums friends to KB complexes last night
She got a message today from one of them saying she Had never been so sore in her life lol
I had them start with just deadlifts, they did those pretty easy so I progressed them to swings and thrusters which they weren't too appreciative of :p
They all (7 mums over 40) worked infinitely harder, and were a lot stronger, than some of my early 20 friends I have trained so far

PTC,
I have just returned from my session this morning...I talked to my trainer about potential to compete and he said all the same stuff you did about it being harder with the pause, without the really close spotting etc. His exact words were "this is going to shit freak you".
OK now I get it....it is so much harder when you pause at the bottom..so much harder.
I also seem to want to bench to between my boobs and my collar bone rather than sternum.
Fuck it was hard, way hard....SHITLOADS OF RESPECT TO THE PTC CHICKS.
PS - there is no footage of that sad attempt, instead I am gunna stare at the footage of your girls all day while i shove more cals in my mouth

You'll often find that with both men and women. It's like I always say, training can change how you look, feel and perform - the younger ones tend to be most worried about their looks, but as you get older you start thinking about your health, and this is a much greater motivator.

Lots of people do, especially women. Lets you bring your shoulders in more if your pecs aren't that strong. Solution? Bench properly and thus get stronger pecs. :)
