Essendon FC investigated over supplements

What qualifies something as a PED?
Creatine and anavar both work in near identical ways, why is one allowed and the other not?

Um, let's not pretend creatine and anavar work in the same way.

But even assuming they work in the same way, the difference is simple, any who eats meat is already getting creatine. It's no different to protein. It's derived straight from food. Anavar is synthetic testosterone.

The only PED that is somewhat hypocritical is caffeine, which WADA has banned at various stages. Very difficult to police as it is found in so many things we consume and have formed an almost unbreakable cultural practice over hundreds of years.

It's not as if no one ever thought about what constitutes a PED. There is plenty of literature on the topic on the WADA website if you care to look.

Personally, I vote to allow PED's in all sports, If they are there for entertainment, why not maximize the entertainment value?
gotta admit I'm with Nightfall on this one. Nothin better than a bloodsport. Dudes with extreme Roid rage and psychotic episodes from speed or anything tearing each other limb from limb. Lets get rid of umpires, referees and the like, may anarchy rule!!! Nothin like a bit of blood, helps ya hang onto the ball :D

Except maybe in WWE....

WSM?

Super Cup Of Titans

Pretty sure UFC only test before and after fights. K1 the same I think (though that's only the decline anyway)

There are a few examples of untested sports/leagues within a sport being popular with the general populous

More or less. They always test after the event and they've tested people 2-3 months out. Thats how they caught Overeem.

Yep my misuss and my mum had a go at me about how too much protein powder is going to damage my kidneys. Idiots, thats the mentality of these people. I'd be concerned if I owned a supp shop.

UFC only tests after an event if the local State sanctioning body doesn't test.
Not sure if the Nevada State Athletic Commission is the body who does the majority of out of event testing for fighters accredited to fight. Then each individual State Athletic body, depending on where the event is held, will test prior and post events, if not UFC has done so.
