I hate you dave.

Nah, your entitled to your opinion of course lol.

But yeah i remember him back then as well, all about bowling a bouncer at someone's head then following it up with a kickass yorker :P Much more controlled now days, still with plenty of pace :)

I think Clarke averages around 45 and a strike rate near 90.

Thats not too shabby.

Who is doing better in and out of the one day team than him?

I think we have worse performing batsmen in the team than him.

Hussey?

I dont think he's a good Twenty20 cricketer, but he holds his own in the 50 over format. He is crucial to our Ashes hopes

I don't mind Clarke in the one-day team, it's the 20/20s where he's shown he's quite a bit below the other batsmen in terms of strike rate.

What's your tip for the upcoming Ashes series fellas? The poms preparation has been pretty good, most of the bats have been getting runs, KP aside. Their second string spinner Monty is better than any spinner we've got and he wont even be getting a game most likely. I'm a little concerned. What say you?

I say the selectors are already getting it wrong if they do not pick Steve Smith and if North does not cop the boot.

The Ponnies sare favourites for sure.

The selectors have been an embarrassment for at least a couple of years now, especially the way they ballsed up Krezja a couple seasons ago....I don't have much confidence in them. This recent 17 man squad was met with ridicule far and wide. Why so many, shiiiit it's more than the poms entire touring squad, although they trimmed it down to 13 today I see. Hauritz is chopped.

Funny you mention those two actually. I was checking the WA vs VIC scorecard on Cricinfo earlier today and I clicked on the players first-class career averages. D Hussey was 55 and North 43. It got me thinking that Hussey probably would've been a better bet in the team for the last few years.

Problem is he's 33 now...I don't see them giving him a test debut. You never know, maybe later in the series if they go badly.

No, he got screwed over and won't get picked, just Like Brad Hodge got screwed over not long after scoring a double ton against the the mighty South Africa.

Any of you guys think Cameron white should be promoted into the test team. I personally think they should drop Hussey or North, bring in a specialist opener aka hughes or jaques, then throw watson down the order.

And damn! i was looking forward to tomorrows game until the team was announced few hours before :(

No, Cameron is just a specialist batsmen these days and I would opt for Steve Smith over White, Smith is also a fair spin bowler as well as fair batsmen.

Sooo Hussey has been playing really well, hopefully he gets that hundred, loved how he was attacking swann.

In the domestic games, looks like Shaun Marsh has found some form, nearly clinching a win for WA with a 132, but my man LEE took 5 wickets to bring NSW home :) :) :) ;)

What do you guys think of the way they changed the format of the local one-dayers? I'm not a fan of this split the game into 4 innings. I don't like how they've made it 45 overs, and they bat 20 in the first 25 in the second. At least make it the same each innings, be it 20+20 or 25+25. I think they've mucked around with it too much and ballsed it up.

Agree dave,. They have screwed it up. They will return to the original format next season for sure.

Very poor effort with the ball.

Please selectors drop Marcus North FFS, bring in Steve Smith, good batter and good bowler and an excellent fielder.
Show some balls Hilditch, Chappell and co.

you're not freakin wrong sunshine....1/517???? I've never seen such a horrendous looking scorecard against an Aussie bowling attack. I remember India got 700 against us at the SCG a few years back but at least we got them all out or close to. Today was abysmal in the extreme.
