AusBB Book Club

Convict Conditioning: an ebook about how prisoners build their muscle mass and strength in prison without weights or other equipment. He is now a coach using his methods in training others.
Reading around the internet alot of crossfit coaches have adopted his methods.
Good book so far. There is a chapter about Powerlifting so speeding up to read it.

I downloaded total recall to my iPad today, it also includes audio and video, it looks very interesting.

I also downloaded the Pete Townsends auto.
 
Books ive read recently-

the slap - good read
once were warriors(ALan duff) - very good. as usual, better than the film
what becomes of the broken hearted(Alan duff) - follow on to Once were Warriors. good enough so far.

next to read is Savages, they have made a film out of that recently too.

I have had a slight fixation with prison books in the past few years. read pretty much any books i could find on them. Also French Foreign legion books, went a bit cracked on them for awhile too after a lunatic from home went off to join them. not sure if he ever made.

I loved all Irvine Welsh books, highly recommend them. if you liked trainspotting you love his books. readin in the scottish accent can be a bit tricky at first but you get used to it.

read a good book about Pablo Escabar recently as well. cant rememeber the name of it, think it was written by his brother. pretty mental what those boys got up to and the crazy amounts of money the had.

Finished in the last week Kill me if you can, by James Patterson & the book by the Navy Seal who was in the crew that killed Osama Bin Laden. that was a top read (easy to read & lots of action)...

for RHCC. Read it twice. Awesome read. Cheap as chips to buy now as been out a few years.

interesting read to say the least....
 
A few days ago I asked my brother in law to borrow a book about Kettlebell Strength Training I knew he had. He said he had it in PDF format and he will send it to me. I waited for an email but instead recieved a disk in the email of 1000+ book titles in PDF all relating to strength and body building plus more.... Holy fcuk, where to start!
It was his lifetime collection....and its only the first disk.
 
Started Reading Gardens of the Moon by Steven Erikson..

If you are a fan of George RR Martin you will like this... and the good news the series is finished at a mammoth 10 books!

*Kyle Sandilands Biography - Scandilands - This was really good! I actually used some advice from his book

*Schapelle by Tony Wilson (Very good book)

Anyone read becoming a supple leopard by Kelly Starr? He's the guy from mobility wod, not saying I condone crossfit but his book impressed me with the different mobility work that can be done to restore proper biomechanics, but i guess that's something I'm interested in, wouldnt be for everyone

I have started reading the Black Caviar book, although only about 12 pages into it and will take me another 12 mths at least to finish it...
 
Started reading "Death by Pyramid" tonight, if I wasn't reading it on my laptop I'd probably wouldn't have put the book down.
It's all about how the Food Pyramid and Dietary guidelines came about in America in the 70's, and how they tried to reintroduce the food rationed diet America ate during WW2 because Heart disease was non existent during this time. It's mostly how the Pyramid and guidelines was a reflection of bullying by farmers/agriculture and politicians than actually based on science.
Haven't finished it yet.
