hird and bomber and their troops really fucked up, I mean, rather than focusing on "skill" and a proper strength program designed to protect the players, they thought supplements and the cross fit style bullshit the "the weapon" introduced would be the way to go?
I think the point being missed.
what they did to the players was criminal, and not because of the supplements and needles, but the stupid injury crippling exercises that were chosen could of possibly shortened their careers
So do the players still playing get paid for the 12 months off. If so what a win, 12 months off work and full pay. The club can't really not pay them since they made them take it.
One would assume they'd have to get something. Can't expect people with high incomes and likely decent mortgages to just live off their savings for 12 months.
Won't be full pay though, as they're not playing they won't get match payments which is probably 4-5k or more for the higher rates players. That's a fair chunk if you play nearly 20 games of the season.
OK, I didn't realize the seriousness of this. This was WADA appealing to the World Court of Arbitration for Sport in Zurich over the AFL clearing Essendon.
This isn't just an indictment on Essendon but ALSO on the AFL (for clearing Essendon and therefore the AFL).
