2014 Federal Budget

Problem is there is plenty of work but people don't want to do it. Go to a country area and farmers everywhere can't get people to work. I know some farms are getting filipinos in to work now.

Labour is our biggest hurdle to expansion here.

living in the country and seeing this up front , i can tell you the reason they get the filo in is because they can take them to the cleaners , pay them fuck all then charge them a shitload for accommodation
was talking to a few back packers , one farmer was charging them $100 a week just to pitch a tent up on the property

another cool store operator was taking another bunch to the cleaners , he moved a group of 10 into a home he owned and charge each of them $100 a week to live in the house
the rental of the home was worth no more than $180 a week

It's not just that, we just can't get Aussies to work. Pay them well above award wages and they are lucky if they last a month and probably only rock up half the time in the month they are there.

Cut foreign aid for starters esp to Indonesia. Spend those Billions here where is needed first.

Foreign aid has it's benefits. Cutting it would have big repercussions and damage our image to other countries.

I'd rather give my money to overseas country's than half the drop kicks who call themselves australian.
Here's an idea, how about spending less on luxury for prisoners...they receive far more than they deserve both in prison and once they're out.

I doubt cutting some of the FA budget would tarnish anything.
We don't even know what most of it gets spent on. Probably propping up politicians salaries.

You gotta think that the Coalition is fairly confident of being in Government for quite some time, to being taking such an unpopular policy position and thinking so long term.

I've spent the last 22 years in 3 jobs paying taxes to support overpaid polititians and dole bludgers etc, but now my job is coming to a close
I have to wait over 16 weeks to receive centrelink benefits (for the first time) and yes I have applied for shitloads of jobs whilst still currently
employed.

We have a backwards govt.

Aussie pensioners get treated worse than prisoners, and overpaid fatcats get away with murder.

Nope, they know they are a one term government. Abbott is in the front line to deliver all the shitty things then take the fall at the next election, leaving most of the libs unscathed for further down the track.

even if they are just for one term, Labor will not be reversing all of the pain.

Labor will just let the coalition do much of the dirty work, and then tinker at edge.

Some things they will not be able to reverse:
- Mint sell off
- disjoining two merging departments etc

Some things they can easily change like the ATO personnel budget and NBN's directives to install fibre, fuel tax increases

Top 2% of earners in Australia already account for 26% of income tax paid.

Now my top marginal tax rate will be 50%, I still get shaken down if I want to put a bit extra into my super, my family may miss out on Medicare and if I ever did need the aged pension I will be one of the new generation required to work to 70 to enjoy it.

Meanwhile, retired federal politicians enjoy their ludicrous benefits funded by me. I can look forward to paying increased private health insurance premiums so that the other 98% of Australia can get their full medicare benefits and students on welfare can unfurl banners on ABC's Q & A.

Welcome to our first socialist conservative government.
