So,
I was chatting to a mate of mine about my diet. I told him I mix up my protien shake in a 2L milk bottle so I can just take it to work and drink it through out the day.
Now he says that you need to drink it soon after its mixed. I dont know why he says this, he couldnt back it up with any...

I wouldn't say its Tasty... Infact, its pretty damn discusting - but i'm experimenting so thought i'd share it anyway ;)

Just after something i can use to up my intake of protein and carbs during the day and after a workout without having to pay for expensive protein powders. As i am finding it hard to gain size with alot of food alone.
I tried dextrose yesterday. Yea, it tasted too sweet for me to handle and my stomach didn't take it too well (my stomach kinda sucks).
Anyway, what's some good alternatives that i can add to a protein shake which will spike my insulin, get the carbs in there and taste good?

Upon waking up yesterday, I decided to make myself a shake. It was so delicious that I had to share it with you. I used my magic bullet to mix it with. Here's what I put in it:
1. WPI 30g
2. Oatmass 30g
3. 1 egg
4. 30g pitted prunes
5. 250ml apple juice.

I managed to score a couple of tubs of 500g cottage cheese for $1.80 from wollies yesturday, expires on the 6th of August. Still plenty of time :P
My concoction, tell me what you think.
Olive Oil 25ml
1 Egg
Milk 400ml
Oats 30-40 grams
2 Scoops protein powder
Total 950 calories and 54 grams of protein.
Also how many grams of carbs should I be trying to have each day?
Banana Breakfast Shake
2 ripe bananas
2 tbsp low fat yogurt
1/2 cup skimmed milk
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1. Place bananas, yogurt, skimmed milk, and vanilla extract all into a food processor and process it until smooth.
2. Serve chilled and immediately.
NO PROTEIN POWDER REQUIRED
1 ½ cups skimmed milk
1 tbsp of natural peanut butter
½ cup dry rolled oats
1 whole egg
3 egg whites

Drop the ice cream - it's unneeded and is pushing the (simple) carb component way too high for a protein shake IMHO. Replace it with ice...
