I have cycled creatine a few times. And each time no significant [water] weight gain was noticeable, nor were there noticeable increases in strength gain, but maybe a slight improvement in recovery.

Just finished my first tub of creatine mono and didn't get any benefit out of it. It was Balance brand (Balance Technology I think it's called). $32 for 500gms.
