Excess calories is the problem, not sugar. Leave my ice cream and Apple pie alone, I train fucking hard to enjoy my treats.
This.
A big waistline is just an excess of calories over a period of time.

i read this somewhere the other day and found it very interesting: australian's put on an average of 1kg/year after the age of 25 (or something, i can't remember it precisely).
1 kg = 7700calories.
7700calories / 365 days = 21.1 calories per day
so, on average, each australian is in calorie surplus by 21.1 calories per day. that's like 33mL of milk or 6g of sugar or 8g of white bread or 3g of butter every day for the rest of their lives... the power of very small amounts of force over time.
Fuck no.
The fatties will continue to eat shit anyway and then all you are doing is penalizing people who are not fat who like to have some fatty food every now and then.
Education is what is needed not just throwing a random tax on shit.

Cull them.
interesting gender break down though. Not sure what to think of that....
I love whoppers with cheese...I'm all for taxing fatties on planes, makes it uncomfortable for the rest of us, with the overhang and sweat n stuff...
But if they base it on BMI we're all screwed.

Set up fat cameras outside donut kings and kfc too
63 per cent of Aussies are overweight; 53 per cent of women and 70 per cent of Australian men are overweight.
We are a nation of chubbies. Check out your nearest supermarket and fats food outlet to find out the reason, as a nation we eat shit.
Is it time for a fat tax on food? Tax the fuck out of whoppers with double cheese while making lean ground beef cheaper?
