Yes stickys arms and legs are stick like :D

I got a PB on bench, and 220kg would have been an equal PB on deads. I havent trained deads since august so it was VERY wishful thinking lol. Thought Id give it a crack anyway.

I should mention old James.

At 61 years old, and 18 months total lifetime lifting, he pulled 202.5kg raw, without a belt.

He trains in a gym with a heap of young athletic fit footballers, yet none come close in deadlift strength.

He broke his own PB, set ANOTHER National Record, I dont know how many he has set, and has 4 World Records.

He also squats more than every footballer as well.

From the day he started, he has never questioned a thing, does what he's told, doesnt ponder assistance exercises, reps, sets, sessions, cardio, rep cadence, science and all the other things that young guys waste energy on.

His 202.5kg deadlift, without a belt, beats not only the footballers, but quite a few competitive lifters on this forum.

He started with 40kg 18 months ago, he still laughs about this now.

In Freo there was a kid who lifted 140kg. I think they said he was 13. He looked about 50kg but I guess noone tries to take his lunch money...

His big brother is Daniel Macri, huge fella. I guess they like to start early haha

The strong deadlifters are huge, the beast in the red shirt, Damir the 300kg deadlifter and some monster who decided to lift halfway through the comp, e did 275kg i think.

Also saw a few bikie members (Rebels) that was pretty cool.

The crowd was crazy, what a great location for an event like this.

I'll try finish editing the video by tomorrow night :)

Scott, was the camera man calling you "Scooter"?...

We had a grand total of 4 lifters. The whole thing took about 20 minutes. There wasn't a single final attempt under 200kg. NT is awesome. We had a mid 40 year old fellow attempt 275kg, which was only just missed. Nailed 265kg I think.

It was a fun day, can't wait for the next full meet.

Some pics from Perth's Deadlift Comp,

Push/Pull Comp | Facebook

I didn't take any pics of deadlifts/bench, they were all recorded on video. I'll finish editing the video by tonight, just waiting for the results to be sent to me.

EDIT:

Luca Rossi posted on facebook. said:
How close was that at the deadliest deadlift. 1.5 points seperated the top six lifters after body weight coefficents were applied. Damir with 300kg was edged into third by the veteran of powerlifting Jim Ambose with a 230 kg in the 75 kg class with morgan Beard taking top honours with a 205 kg in the 67.5 kg class. Corey Etia and Corey Millar were a fraction behind with some excellent lifting. 2.5 kg made a difference from finishing sixth or first and 1 kg seperated the top three. Excellent lifting by all.

Wrong time of year for Darwin. May titles will be huge.

Is Bungy still running the Powerpit up there mate? I did the CAPO deadlift comp in 2008 when I lived up there.

Haha, not sure Stick. 220 came up with ease last Monday, add 5kg extra and it wont lock out. Weird. Probably a lack of general prep and having to help the old man with his car for half the morning before hand, stupid thing went and blew a starter motor.

All good fun, single lift comps are just practice/guage for me.
