wpi vs wpc vs casein vs Blend

Most mass gain shakes are just cheap protein and dextrose mixed together, dextrose is about $2-4 per kilo from home brew shops. so just mix your own.

To add to this,

If you look at Dymatize Super Mass Gainer 5kg for instance.. and break down the nutritional contents.. what you'll see is you're actually paying for 0.81kg of protein (most likely WPC) and 4kg+ of carbs (maltodextrin/dextrose). People think great value when they see it retailing for $80 for 5kg, when you can get the same for no more than $45 (off our site that is).

I wouldn't even call it a protein shake.

Can dextrose be taken at any time? or only after a workout?
Its fast digesting right, so its just optimal to be used after (with creatine), and if you used it at another time, you'd just get hungry faster/sooner as it'd be processed faster? and what about Maltodextrin?

yes/no?

/confused?

I totally agree there more of sugar shakes then protein shakes and look like value for money because of there size to price ratio. Serving size is what you gotta look at and also the breakdown per 100g.
