The dip can be a troublesome exercise for some.

i think three mistakes are made;

1. the bar width around 700mm seems to be the best for most, unless you are extremely wide or narrow shouldered
2. Going too low and bouncing out of the "hole" so to speak
3. Like the bench press, No scapula movement
treat it like a bent over pull, as you pull the bar to your torso squeeze the scapular together
I think dips like this (performed by jim wendler) are shit, got to get that range of motion

fucking ego lifters

I've got no problem with it. Gets his upper arms to parallel. If he doesn't feel he needs to get lower than that I don't see the problem.

The movement is common among powerlifters, I was watching Ed Coan at PTC he was the same.

Ed is a great bloke, but I reckon he's the way he is in spite of the way he trains.
and he would be the first to agree with me.

That rom isn't so bad. How do you know that dumbell isn't a 50 kg? Ed Coan would agree would he? ok.

Who cares how much weight is on his belt? I do 40kg weighted dips but perform full reps, what's the point otherwise? I can half rep all sorts of weight.

It's dips. People need to relax.

It's not like someone is doing a quarter squat and calming a oly squat. Who cares. What's next argument about full ROM on tricep kickbacks.

Lol

you now compare that with kickbacks

you're digging a hole

You wander around like some geriatric worried about getting injured every second of your life.

If your mind wasn't all gone from old timers disease you would see it wasn't a comparison with kickbacks. It was using kickbacks as a shitty exercise to get all flustered about people not doing proper ROM on.

Nek minnit 'the only squat is an atg squat and if you can't get your balls to hit the ground you have no business squatting and should be crucified for trying'
