Testosterone 10.8

I just rang the doctor to get the results.

He said everything was pretty much normal. IGF - 32, Free T - 58, Test - 22

He mentioned that there were 4 tests on the liver, 3 were normal, one was high - I cant remember what number he said though, maybe 72?

He also mentioned that my iron was high at 36.

So he said we'll leave it for a few months then test the liver and iron again.

Did you test e2?

.. No matter.. Time to start fixing your liver as their is obviously a problem there. DO you drink? Its time to stop... Your igf-1 is the same as mine... Bottom of the scale. This points to a few possible causes all pointing to the liver...

A few points below on HGH and igf-1

Alcohol. One drink is toxic enough to impair cellular metabolism in the liver such that growth hormone receptor production is reduced, inflammatory signaling is raised to the point production of IGF-1 and its binding proteins are reduced. One drink wastes an entire day's worth of growth hormone.

Liver Disease. Liver disease may involve impaired cellular metabolism and excessive inflammatory signaling which impairs IGF-1, IGFBP3, and ALS production.

Excessive Inflammatory Cytokine Signaling from the Immune System. Inflammatory cytokines (such as Tumor Necrosis Factor Alpha (TNF-alpha), InterLeukin 1a, 1b, and 6) can inhibit growth hormone receptor production, impair signal transduction, impair IGF-1 gene expression, leading to impaired IGF-1 production and impaired IGFBP3 and ALS production.

If i were you i would look at getting cytokines tested.

Dr said e2 was normal.

I didn't have a drink for about 2 months (maybe more) before the test. But the week after the test I drank a lot (on holidays).

Could the liver score be high from all the sups and vits I was taking? What about insulin spiking? can that contribute?

The Dr saying normal doesnt mean shit.

My test was 7.2nmol'L the dr said that was normal e2 was 160. That was normal also.

The real question is why don't doctors do anything about hormal problems in men? I saw a show the other day about a Dr who was saying just that. He said that giving men testosterone should be way more common practice than it is.

Because androgens kill children and will bring about the apocalypse.

Ignorance mainly kindred. That and most dr's seem to know nothing about it what so ever. From what I can tell I could run a better anti aging practice in aus then Alot of the md's around.

n00bs, unrelated question. Do you get your c0q10 and Resveratrol from iHerb? Or do you have any brands that you favour? PM if you want.

Free GH and test for all. Shame it's so damn expensive.

Just look at Sly, he's leaner than 80% of the population at 60+

Bringing this thread back to life...

Just got my latest test everything looks ok but I have a reading of
8.7 nmol/L of testosterone (normal range 12.0 -32.0)
0.7 U/L of FSH (normal range 1.5-12.4)

Doctor says its ok because I have a FAI reading that is in normal range...
Previous test readings to date from memory 8, 10, 14, 8.7.

What is FAI?

Im on new meds to stimulate LH and Il looking at getting something for the FSH.

OMFG your dr is a moron...

Why is is so hard to get into medical school yet gps are total fuck twat idiot retards??

FAI is free androgen index. Thats like saying you have 60% of 10 but someone else has 30% of 100 you have a larger percentage so its ok?

A larger percentage of nothing is still fucking nothing... This is borderline malpractice.

Did he test SHBG? LH? OESTRADIOL?!

How much does stress effect test levels? - can it drop it by that much?

Not so much 'stress' but the effects of not being able to handle stress i.e adrenal insufficiency...

Kindred obviously has a problem... Taking his weight into consideraiton we need to consider why his test could be low?

weight = low test
low test = weight

More then likley he has either adrenal or thyroid problems... the 3 interelate to each other. i.e secondary hypogonadism can be caused by hypothyroidism or hypoadrenia...

Hypothyroidism can be caused by hypoadrenia.

All 3 need to be investigated...

If his oestradiol is too high and his SHBG is too high then the enzyme that converts test to oestradiol (aromatase) needs to limited.. Insert arimidex

If his shbg is too low however oestradiol is still high think insulin resistance or blood sugar regulation problems.. This leads us to adrenals i.e cortisol and its precursors and their role in blood sugar and metabolism.

Thyroid hormones need sufficient cortisol to effectivley work on cells. So you can have subclinical hypothyroidism; meaning you have the signs and symptoms but lack definitive pathology... such as thyroid hormones can be sufficient but insufficient cortisol can not be allowing them to gain access to cells. ( think of diabetics and insulin resistance and insulines role in glucose transport ) .

Whatever the case kindred you either need to find a proper dr who has a brain. Or be willing to fork out $$$ for pathology to investigate say possibly $400 worth. Then take that to a dr with a brain and say look at this fix me.

FUCK just rang the specialist wont be able to see me until June Fuck south Australia no fucking doctors anywhere!

I have always thought I may have a problem with cortisol levels due to stress - never gone to the doctor to get anything checked out tho.
