Strength training. What to do on off days?

I do strength training three days a week and need to do something on off days?

What kinds of weights training would be most beneficial?

Monday/Wednesday/Friday = squats, deads, press, bench and a set of chins, push-ups, sit-ups.

Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday/Sunday = ????????

Sometimes less is more, perhaps rest could be the best thing, if you must train I would suggest some light cardio and core stuff which will help on your lifting days.

Depending on the intensity of the previous days workout, I rest or add in some 10 min HIIT sessions.

active recovery.

Mobility work, foam rolling mainly. Go for a walk (and usually end up doing some chins and stuff at the jungle gym :p)

I agree with neddysmith, rest is very important for muscle repair and recovery.
So in those days, have some time for rest and a few minutes of cardio is not bad.

I think it's an individual thing and dependant on your goals, definitely some active recovery and mobility work though imo.

Suggest bodyweight training.

Make up a little circuit of 10 exercises. 20-30 reps. Run through it once or twice. Try to do it as fast as possible.

For me its a day of active recovery. Lots of foam rolling, smr with a lacrosse or cricket ball, stretching and mobility drills.

Sometimes I will hit the spin bike for 30-40 minutes of really light work.

Without it I just don't recover properly.
