He did not have to work hard to acquire the physique he obtained compared to most.

It's evident by the fact that he is still lifting today, others are just walking wounded.

I'm seeing a bit of vein pop in the right bicep....

Yeh, I don't know what context the comparison was used in but it doesn't seem to be much of a difference. I wouldn't even put it down solely to the carbs, he's under more light in the second picture which would define the vein shadows making them look bigger as well.
