Best test of strength?

C&P is the ONLY lift that requires push AND pull strength

There is one more, the chin dip, but it can only be performed at PTC, you place one hand on the chin bar and one on the dip handle and push pull your way up.

Muscle ups????
 
There's too much technique involved with muscle ups. I can do twenty chins and well over twenty dips but can't do a single muscle up.

Fat Dave squats 180kg....strong
Fat Dave deadlifts 220kg .....strong
Fat Dave benches bodyweight for 2 reps?????????????????????

Not so strong. That's why a simple pull is no indicator.

Fat Dave cant clean & press bodyweight.

If you guys want another 15 examples that are similar, let me know.

Feel free to post up someone who can C&P bw x 5 and highlight weaknesses in other lifts.
 
i think your example are created by the way those people train. the press isn't a focus for most lifters. that is why there is a weakness.

Brendon said it before that most/all can clean more that they press, to then it becomes just the press that is tested. the press is not the best show of strength. the press is a good show if strength, but not as much as the deadlift
 
Here we go again.

Fat Dave has only ever trained at PTC, he has always trained all lifts equally, as does everyone that trains there.

In fact, Dave benches twice a week compared to once a week for squats and pulls, PLUS he does an Olympic lifting session with Max each week.

So this guy trains his weaknesses, bench and C&P twice as much as his dead and squat, yet theyre still poor.

Why?

Because he's not strong.

Anyone got an example of a weak guy that can C&P bw x 5?
