Good to hear things are in the works!

If you have any Q's about comps/members/costs/industry deals/ pretty much ANYTHING, just holla mate.

You'll definitely be hearing from us Scotty.

LMD1234: we'll probably end up in somewhere surrounding Southport but we could go a bit further south if we find the right place. Either way we will make sure we're easily accessible from the Pacific Motorway for convenience sake.

When picking your spot remember there are already a couple of really good s&c facilities down there, one in particular. Though I think they more Robina/Burleigh way. Whether you want take them on head to head etc?

Close to Pac motorway seems a winner though.

Do you mean Coyne? And there's also ESP in Southport. We're gonna be same-same but different I suppose. And I'm sure the GC can support one more strength facility. :)

Have you had any experience with them? Paz did his practical internship with ESP so we know a bit of their methods and clientele and know we'll be offering something different at least.

try tradersway currumbin gym closed there 2 years ago still vacant no other strength gyms for miles ,i am at elanora and train lifters at "one life " not ideal but all thats avalabe without travel .lets know if i can help

One Life... *shudder*

I trained at the Toowoomba branch once. So shiny.

They let you get away with chalk and heavy deadlifts there?

yes chalk and all even had one of our bigest d/lifters [a house hold name ]fell forward doing a big squat, into 3 k worth of mirrors ,we get a good deal, train of a morning and just about have the place to ourselves, they are allways giving the girls shirts or bags ect ,so i dont suppose all comercial gyms are the same, mind you we clean up after our self and so far alls good ,i beleive if you give respect you get if back, its not what you do its how you do it

This sounds like it's exactly what I have been looking for. I would definitely come check it out and I have two training partners who I'm sure would too; particularly if it's located in the central to northern parts of the Coast.

PM me your email address (and ph. number if you want) and i'll keep you updated as to where things are at. Going ahead in the next month or so, working on finding premises at the moment.

Awesome news Freako and Paz! Once you're up and running I'll definately drop by and say hello when I'm down the coast. Great stuff!

Cheers,
Mike

Im up in South Brisbane, but go to Uni on the coast so I would probably drop in every now and then, if I end up moving down there depending on your pricing I would definitely be interested but until then it would probably just be a casual drop in every now and then.

Any other GC based lifters here? Or does anyone know of any?

Paz and I are in the conception stage of opening our own little warehouse gym and I'm hoping to develop a powerlifting club out of it eventually and am wondering whether there might be any interested parties. The gym will have a strength and conditioning focus, no frills attitude and will be powerlifting, weightlifting and strongman friendly. I'll eventually be getting my brother-in-law to build me some strongman implements to have a bit of fun on.

Info for anybody who might not know: I'm a self-coached lifter currently ranked #10 place on PA's overall raw rankings and Paz is a certified exercise physiologist specialising in rehab and another self-coached competitive lifter. Hopefully we'll be able to create something good down here on the GC.

I'll update when I have further news.

Hi El Freako jchen posted in my training diaries thread to contact you, I just moved to the Gold Coast from Sweden and are looking for a hardcore gym and he said you could sort me out?

I have been to a couple of gyms here on the Gold Coast but all of them are to fancy for my liking, I want a gym where I can do squats, deadlifts and other basic exercises, I dont need machines.

Cheers
Mattias

Cheers
