Azza, maybe come for a drive to Dalby one Saturday and I can show you the gym and we can train together. It would be great to have a workout with someone as most of the time by myself at 5am.

There is someone staffing the facility during office hours, but outside of these hours, it is unsupervisored. Entry to the facility is via an access card. There are several PTs that work out of the gym.

I am in Dalby and an Anytime Fitness (24/7) opended back in Dec 2010. The place is fitted out with Life Fitness / Hammer Strength equipment. Two power racks, olympic bars, d/bells to 50kgs, quite a few Hammer Strength machines, not a bad place to train. Have you tried Raw Muscle in Ruthvern St?

    Mackay

Several years ago i used live and work near mackay, probably the best gym there is city fitness. I used to train there where i was required to travel to Mackay for a few days. MAybe changed since this time, but i recall they had plenty of free-weights, d/bells, power-racks and a variety of...

PTC, you are correct and now there is a choice and it seems that lifters are moving towards raw lifting.

    Double Ply

And hence why raw lifting is gaining more interest and support. When I first started Powerlifting it was to become stronger on the three lifts and over time it seems that more emphasis has been placed upon the use of equipment. I am all for improving one's leverages through technique, but...

    ProRaw Training

its not difficult to believe that i guy can squat triple bodyweight with no wraps. I have squatted and deadlifted triple bodyweight a few times at around 72.5kg b/weight. This was before the days of the recent popularity of "raw" lifting. No real interest in competing anymore, but still follow...

    Check my benching form?

just a few dot points that i observed; - try to position your feet so that they are more under hips - move your body further down the bench and push the bar back towards your eyes, rather then straight up - widen your grip - squeeze your shoulder blades together and maintain this position...

    Powerlifting USA available online

Hi, For those that maybe interested, I recently found that digital copies of Powerlifting USA can be purchased for $US2 through the Powerlifting USA website. For those like me that were sick of paying $18 for a copy from Borders, this is fantastic.

    AUSBB Strength Record Board

I believe that several years ago it was proposed at the IPF General Meeting that a formula be developed for the Bench Press for this specific reason. However, this proposal was rejected by the IPF. Not too sure as to the reason for this decision.

    The Bench Chart

Trofius, I live and work in a remote mining town. The expenses involved to travelling to compete, accomondation, time, etc make it difficult to justify competing. I used to do it when I was younger, but with a wife and family, it makes it much more difficult. So I continue to train at home...

i recall on another forum that one of the guys mentioned that Dohertys was going to open to Bendigo. Just not too sure of the timing. There is also a Powerlifing club in Bendigo. For bbing, probably the better gym is Feel Good Fitness.

    The Bench Chart

Currently living and working in Qld and I continue to train at home. It would be fantastic to train with a group of other lifters, but where i live, the guys have other interests. I am interested in competing again, but there are several reasons why I would not compete in PA. This is largely...

    Ptc ppp

Gareth, Just a question for you. Why are you deadlifting in Olympic shoes? These shoes have a elevated heel and are great for squating, but for deadlifting, they tend throw you forward. In addition, wearing these shoes you are higher off the ground, which in turn increases the distance that...

    The Bench Chart

Currently 38 and have been training for quite a few years. Used to compete to powerlifting in my younger days. Once i commenced work with a mining company it became more difficult as i was living in a remote area of WA. Most of the time i trained by myself. At this time, there was no RAW...
