    What i meant is in comps do you have to pause at the bottom most point in squats? Same with bench do you have to pause when the bar touches yr chest for the lift to count? Happy days if it doesn't as I can lift far more without a pause and using the bounce so to speak.

    You werent wearing a belt under there hay JDizzle? Guess i'll keep on going without one then, but is the bounce out of the bottom a sort of cheat or just part and parcel of deep squats?

    I've watched your vids. they're quite impressive.. at what weight would you recommend using a belt? I've always thought using nothing at all just because i havent wanted to shell out for extra stuff but perhaps a belt makes sense when you get to certain weights?

    Yeh my max is only 150kg but i've found that pausing on the bottom when doing lower weights like 120/130 has helped when I sort of bounce from the bottom with the heavier.. i'm probably doing it wrong..

    in the sense that if you pause just before the deepest you can go you'll probably find it harder on the way up than if you simply go as deep as possible then power straight back up .. Dont you get some sort of bounce from the bottom?

    What would you say is a realistic budget to kit a garage with a decent rack and around 160kg weights? $1k is a little dear but i guess i could stretch as my current gym is 100$ a month..

    Yeh I was looking at gymdirect and some of the bundles there were around 800$ too.. I want a rack that i can do Squat, bench and OHP also pullups would be nice. I'm not bothered about the tricep pulldown thing this rack has..maybe I'll give it a miss then

    Hey guys saw this online POWER RACK - WITH LAT PULL DOWN I'm after a decent home gym setup and can't really spend more than $800. Do you reckon its a decent deal? Only thing is the bar isnt a proper 20kg one that I wanted. Cheers, Jon
