targeting biceps

ok so it seems i'll have to curl, so the next question is of the 50+ variations of curls whitch one to do and why?

Start with the bread and butter, BB curls, DB curls.
Why?
Because it's a good starting point.

Because they have been ruined by all tge bicep heros. Honestly makes me cringe thinking about training like them. I take pride in the fact im one of the only proper lifters in my gym. I know what i think when i see someone cranking out an hour of curls and wudnt want people to think the same about me

Anyway big biceps arnt gona increase my total :p

The one that gives you the best pump
I have no scientific explanation for this

I disagree man, they are important for elbow health. What do you mean by you're a proper lifter? Because you train for strength and this somehow makes you better than everyone else that trains just because they want their arms a bit bigger?

Reasons to curl:
Gives you big arms
Strengthens the tendons
Makes you less likely to tear them doing back exercises

Reasons to not curl:
You're an idiot

Destroy the establishment! Curls are for curl bros. Curls and bench press are the two exercises the machine monkeys do when they accidentally wander into the free weights area.

Honestly I feel a little bit embarrassed doing curls. There's no way to do them and not look like a poser. Maybe people use the squat rack to try and hide...

I don't really know why I hate curls and bench so much. I just feel like they aren't helping me do anything except not fit my shirts properly.

Anyway, for the OP:
Rows are an alternative. Upright, bent, seated, whatever. All works biceps ++.

Why wold you be embarrassed to train biceps?
It's a muscle like any other.
Would you skip calves as well?

A lecture from you on thinking im better than others, fucking really? Lol

As said before my biceps get worked on deads and rows, yes they could be bigger but its not like they havnt grown

I am half joking. I curl, but all it does is pump my arms up. They get bigger I suppose, but not much stronger.

I know where they're coming from, its not so much doing them, its a case of not wanting to look like you just spent a whole hour doing nothing but curls.
Nobody goes in and trains nothing but calves so it's fine to do isolation work on a muscle like that.

The pro squat, anti curl movement is gathering momentum! Soon we'll all be paying out people with huge legs and no upper body, like sprint cyclists.
