Thoughts on Fallon Fox??

Wrong wrong wrong, if you choose to change sex I think you forgo a lot of things to do this, one being the right to compete at the top level of sport, being athletics, mma, swimming etc etc, team sports not so much, but you get the idea, I am yet to see a female who has been turned into a man wanting to compete at the top level?

UFC on Fox 7 ------SPOILERS ****

Thompson was very impressive in his win over Diaz, made Diaz look pretty ordinary, his movement was excellent and stiking was accurate, diaz just didnt seem to handle Thompson not standing in front of him....

Brown was extremely close to been finished with an awesome body shot, i honestly thought he was gone, but to his credit showed real heart coming back from that to take the win, some vicious knees thrown...

Comier v Mir, I am a big Mir fan but he looked really ordinary in this fight, was much bigger with longer reach but still could outstrike Comier and was constantly being put into the cage by Cormier, Cormier is the real deal and should be fighting a title fight soon, he may need on more fight before being given a title shot i would think.

Henderson v Melendez, great fight, Melendez was up early but i think tired towards the end, while Henderson sensed this and kept coming grinding out the win, could have gone either way but i think the right decison was made in the end, Henderson needed to push the action a little more in the early stages to make it convincing, OH and Henderson needs to cut his friggin hair, it was annoying the shit out of me just watching it, especially in the later rounds...

Onto UFC 159 this weekend, really looking forward to seeing Sonnen v Jones.

I'm a big Mir fan too. Cormier looked a bit worried when Mir put some combos together. Makes me wonder how he'd go against JDS, although I assume he'll try to pressure and outwork him (JDS) like Velasquez did.

Would have loved to see Mir get it to the ground, even though Cormier is a distinguished wrestler he's not big and Mir has a very active guard.

Haven't watched the Hendo/Melendez fight yet.

Was a pretty sick card, bottom to top. Not too many Luckluster fights. I missed Diaz getting kicked in the head, haven;t even seen a gif of it :(

Not that keen on 159, Sonnen probbaly gets destroyed, as much as I dislike Jones.

UFC 159 - review-------*********SPOILERS***********

Miller v Healy - this could have been fight of the night for me, was a great technical fight going backwards and forwards with some great grappling and submission attempts, Healy was really impressive in getting the win with his rear naked choke, but would have been interesting to see the judges score cards if it went to a decision, I am thinking Healy would have still won in a split decision.

Phil Davies easily over Magalhaes just a pity he couldnt get the finish

Big Country, all I will say is WOW I think he is really deserving of a title shot, but may need 1 more top name under his belt before he gets his chance, his striking has really improved and he has some power behind his shots, plus he has a great chin, so to do what he did to Congo was very impressive, even though it was a bit of a hay maker, some of the guys above him I think would be a bit worried about fighting him especially considering he is world at bjj as well.

Bisping v Belcher - typical Bisping fight very active with lots of punches and movement but once again unable to finish due his complete lack of power, Belt her didnt appear to be worried Bisping connecting at all but at the same time wasnt throwing any and never even looked like winning the fight, so i guess Bisping has another W and moves closer to getting another title shot

Jones v Sonnen, Jones completed out wrestled and about ground and pound Sonnen, a. Little disappointing as I love Chael, but he was very humble in the end saying he lost to a better fighter, but what else can you say?

I do think it was a premature stop age, Chael was defending himself but was copping punishment but in the replay the ahots werent fully landing and i think in a title fight you have to let things go a little longer, I am not saying the result would have ben diferent but at least it would have made it to the second round.

And as for Jones toe, well WOW that looked painful which in the end I think wiuld have stopped the fight so I guess over all the premature stopped was deserved in some sense and the true winner was crowned

The jones sonnen fight was stopped way to early. It's a fight, let them fight.

Overall pretty disappointing fights I thought.

Except for a flying arm bar or something I guess being a world class BJJ practitioner means nought if you can't get the other dude on the deck. Just a pity Vinny Magalhaes couldn't do something.

Anyone notice Bisping catches a lot of people with pokes and low blows, just saying.

Roy "Big Country" Nelson impresses when he's able to apply his great hands. He's abit like Magalhaes, a top notch BJJ dude learning to use his hands.

I guess everyone knew Sonnen was going to press forward against Jones. Just a pity for Sonnen so did Jacksons. Good to see Jones in a brawl rather than in a stand off Bruce Lee exchange. I didn't mind the stoppage, Jones was getting through - knee to the sterum, elbow to the side of the head, punch to the face all whilst seemingly having ground control. Not saying Sonnen was gone but he wasn't totally intelligently defending himself.

I'm not sold on Cain Velasquez vs Bigfoot Silva.

Silva gets the shot due to his victory against the over-cocky dumbass Overeem, but Velasquez fought Silva before his JDS fight and absolutely destroyed him in only 1 round from memory.

There is absolutely nothing to convince the fans that we should expect a different outcome. I'm not sure who I would've put in there against Cain, but surely not someone he destroyed just 2 fights previously. Dumb.

very true oh skin tight camel toe body suit wearing one. Coz once Velasquez gets Bigmoot Silva down he's going to ride him like Wingman on Mardi Gra weekend.

Only one whose shown a resemblance of takedown defence adequate to handle Velasquez is Dumb Overeem.

Yeah I think Silva deserves to have another fight or 2 in the hw division before earning his title shot, but then again he did beat Oreem even if he was being a dick at the time and deserved to lose, maybe a. Fight against Mark Hunt or Big country first to and then the winner gets a title shot.

In saying this what has happened to Shane Carwin? Is he still banned for rods or still injured I can't remember him fighting in a while.

I like Hunt and Te Huna, and I will be cheering for them, but does anyone else think they are both punching above there weight, Hunts good but JDS is still champ material, yes he has 1 punch KO but JDS is far more rounded, and Ta Huna and Glover, Kyle Noke was saying to us when he was over here that Rashard and a few other top tens turned down a fight with him in fear off losing, he is one tough dude, I hope they go well, but I will not be putting money on them

Agreed. I think Hunt has a better chance of taking out JDS than Te Huna does vs Glover, who I suspect will take Te Huna down and maul him.

Looking forward to both fights bigtime.
