Squat depth

That being the case, and assuming all skelatons are roughly equal, i'm going to practice 250kg squat rack walkouts tomorrow. I certainly cant squat that, but if i'm just practicing the walkout i should be fine right?

Don't forget to take your video camera. I want to see it.

Good of you to pitch in to try and support the other two with their little point but walking out is in no way similar to standing. Just unrack it and stand there. You probably could do that with 250kg precisely because of the skeletal support.

What is wrong with you people being so pedantic? And squabbling over semantics?

Andys response to Bloke, when read in that context, made perfect sense to me. Why nit pick certain parts & try to discredit them? Of course your hammies, lower back, glutes & quads aren't under the same pressure, contraction nor do they need the same strength when you're standing upright and your skeleton is largely supporting your volume, whether you have a bar & plates on your back or not. Blokes issue is weakness in his hammies, glutes & lower back, which prevent him from getting out of the hole, in squat position, or breaking parallel.

Bloke, listen to Andy.

'You can't make chicken soup out of chicken shit' Goosey

SDLD, RD's, goodmornings, all of those will help to build strength in the hammies as I've said before. I'm sure others, who are trainers or have had this issue themselves, can contribute constructively to the thread & give you some more idea's or tips to assist.

Just remember it also takes some time. Rome was not built in a day. But it was built :)

Because this is the strength section.

Saying that the muscles to ZERO work is completely wrong.

You're contribution as always, is much appreciated.

I appreciate your line of questioning, Bazza, I really do.

I would think I'd be safe in saying that anyone who believes that muscle is not playing a role holding limbs, Moving limbs, supporting organs and maintaining other other bodily functions is an idiot.

I'm suggesting to bloke that he actually needs to get into that position where he is weakest to improve his strength by moving through it, to get strong he must first be strong.

You two (sticky) are the only two that are arguing, if anyone else doesn't understand of course, speak up, to make a muscle stronger it needs to move.

I'm done now, thanks.

So why say it, skeleton only supporting the weight at the top / muscles doing no work, when it's clearly not true.

Just out of curiosity bloke is your problem an imbalance or just general weakness. What is your ratio front to back squat? What sort of weight are you squatting?

To quote wendler unless your quads are hanging over your knees like nut sacks you are not quad dominant.

Get over yourself.

You guys are like a bunch of pedantic little girls arguing over Barbies or something.

Your. Your. Your.

Using "you're" in that context is completely wrong.

Bullshit minor point? Everyone knew what you meant right? I still had to do it.

You know your shit so why not post something that helps bloke with his problem?

May i clarify goosey sir? At the top of a squat, just standing there, you're saying thats entirely skelatal and not musculature?

Edit - im sorry if this has already been covered. Apparently comprehension isnt my strong point.

I'm using this in the context that there is a chance that bloke can understand that it is movement that stimulates muscle growth certain positions of the squat are easier than others, getting out of the hole of a squat is very difficult for most due to leverages, gravity and such, I gave him some ideas, because he asked, now fuck off.

If you idiots choose to take me literally that's not my concern and maybe you should just return to stalking forums which you are good at.

Bloke thanked me, he got it, move on

If you or anyone else can come up with other examples to help bloke do it.

On topic.

The penny will drop one day, I'm not going to argue with you.

Andy instead of going around and around in circles with your cryptic replys to this, it would have ended much sooner if you just said that you were wrong and muscles do actually do work at the top of a squat.

I take your point bazza I will be more mindful in future.
