@ Alpha moth: Awesome set-up mate, you got plenty of poundage with all those plates=nice! I like those Oly dumbells, thinking of getting some actually.

@ Deep: Sweet price on the rack mate, they are a good rack from what I've heard.

Nothing flash, but does the trick YEEEEEEEEEAH!?!

What brand is that stuff mate?
Looks the goods to me, are the benches sampson (or is it samson?) like BigMick has got?
Plenty of plates mate and frig you got heaps of dumbells, awesome.

G

Samson sure is, all welded together doesn't budge, I love the love the old school stuff, I Nick name her "Sammy"

Lol my mate tease me bout my dumbells fetish, they are all used. The 2x12kgs for shoulders and seated bicep curls, the 2x14kgs for triceps skull crushers, the 2x16kgs for standing :)bicep curls, the 2x18kgs for my flys, 2x20kgs for one leg calve raises and the 2x22kgs for bench press, the most annoying part was putting them together lo

Cool, love to see the old Samson benches, have added a few more things to my home gym as well, so will have to throw some new photos up.

Have cleaned and painted the last of my old weights that I picked up in Queensland today, picked up some Samson press stands (and my missus will be using them for squats as well if/when she gets motivated) as I hate people messing with my power rack. Press/Squat Stands were $20 on eBay, also finally got my 4 in 1 bench last week for $120, will mainly be using it for incline presses.

Will grab some photos this week and throw them up.:)

I saw that bench, that was the same seller that sold one around Christmas. What was with the padding? Was is the deluxe crocodile skin version? Lol

Yeah that's the one, it's funny as my brother has a flat bench also silver with the same padding, they went through a lot of color changes over the years, must have used what ever paint and padding they could get cheapest.

I remember blue frames, black frames, silver frames, white frames and probably others all with different padding. I will eventually paint all mine black anyway once I get around to it. At the moment they are sitting outside under my awning, I call it my outside gym, as they get painted and reupholstered they will move inside.

Still looking for incline sit up board and preacher pad, happy to buy other stuff if that is part of the deal as I can always resell what I don't need. If you come across anything let me know. :)

No mate do it myself, it's easy, all you need is one of those tack driver guns from Bunnings takes about ten minutes to do, if you want you can even get new foam from Clarke Rubber, but foam is usually still good.

Tidied up my 'outside gym" a bit more over the last coupe of weeks, have also picked up an Incline bench for $120 on eBay, have never done incline benches in my life, and have found new levels of pain in my chest doing them.

Anyway here are some more photos taken the other day:

All the gear will eventually be cleaned up, painted and re upholstered, but not worried about it at the moment, works perfectly as is, the muscles will never know the difference:)

Mick, if you can get the right size steel to slide in, would be easy (for me) to weld up the metal part of a preacher pad. then just need wood/foam/vinyl..

Thanks for the offer, I was going to do that eventually, I have a welder at home as well, used to be pretty good at making stuff out of metal, I made all my own thick bars I use for benches and squatting as well as the dumbbell rack earlier in this thread.

Have recently welded barbell holders onto my plate storage tree (just have to paint it now) and will be making another dumbbell rack later this year.

But this stuff is often so cheap to buy that it is hardly worth making yourself sometimes, just a matter of finding it, but I really appreciate your offer:):)

looking awesome BigMick, shite you got some equipment now LOL, love ogling at your set-up :p, makes me dream of the shit I want.......next for me is a dip station if I can find a second hand one I will get it sooner otherwise I will go all out and get the one I seen on Gym Direct, it just seems so pricey though......will keep looking around I think, or maybe make my own, but like you said some shit is so cheap why bother.

G

Mate I just check eBay weekly, my whole set up including weights cost less than a grand, dip station cost $80 or $100 from, memory, lat pulldown/row, including rowing handle, wide grip lat handle in photo and tricep rope was around $100 as well, incline bench was my latest purchase $110 buy it now, so I jumped on it, all second hand of course.

A mate of mine just picked up a rack/lifting cage, bench and 170kg worth of plates and bar for under $500, not sure what brand, have not seen it yet, but a great buy for a beginner, as he is just starting out weight traing.

There are plenty of bargains out there, seen the same dip station I have for $80 the other day eBay again. :)

Ebay, gumtree and all the auction houses like graysonline are great places to find cheap stuff, so many people buy expensive shit, use it once or twice and it sits there gathering dust until they sell it.

Hi Mick,

My name is Mark i was the guy you purchased the bench off at silverwater.
Just letting you know that i have listed some more stuff on ebay if you are interested.Cheers Mark
