Max's trip to the Worlds

Max did TV interviews and there was a lot of press for the only Aussie who travelled half way around the world.

I would love to see lots of aussies next year.

Max got an invite to Clash of the Titans yesterday, April in Texas. Raw with knee wraps allowed, lots of atmosphere, think WWF.

What do you reckon Sean???????????????

Only if they put them on the internet, I'm guessing its not a high priority for them.

He got some press down here with more due next week. He may be on Contact Sports on the ABC2 next week some time, Paul Kennedy has requested footage

I was going to say Markos, why the hell havn't the Australian media been jumping on this? We see doped up footballers on TV FFS, max should def. get coverage!

Our local paper is about to do its 3rd article, ABC2 is as good as it gets I suppose.

Unfortunately our sport is not that popular.

Plenty of other Aussies have done well in this sport with no coverage.

might have to expand your training centre soon PTC :)
All the media coverage will have people knocking down your doorstep.

The thing is Ceffo, most find the training too hard. I get lots of new clients with good intentions, not too many stick around. They see the results we get at National level and now International, and think its easy.

Last night Max did high box squats with 200kg, a week after the Worlds. Fat Dave did squats - 130kg x 10 x 10. Most dont want to train that hard.

I actually have an appointment with a sporting club on Wednesday in regards to working as a Strength & Conditioning coach, but at PTC over the off season. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

you definately need to open a division of PTC at Renmark S.A Markos!!!! Your first member right here buddy!!!

Nina did such a great job while I was gone, and Max finishes school soon, I may be able to set up another PTC somewhere in Melbourne, who knows.

Knowing Max and Nina can keep the original one going, may allow me to do something 9-6 closer to the city.

I dont know about interstate yet. There was a position that caught my eye in Adelaide, if I decided to go for it and was successul, then a PTC Adelaide would be on the cards. Long shot though.

Something I forgot to talk about was the World Record fiasco.

With our Nats being only 3 weeks before the Worlds, and nobody at CAPO bought the WR application forms to our Nats, the Records done at our Nats werent listed at the Worlds in time. They may still count, but at the Worlds, Max (and others) were able to set records against what was officially on the WPC site.

You have to announce you are going for a WR before your attempt, as its logged and your equipment is checked.

Now Max broke all the listed WR at the Worlds, but he knew that Michael and Mitchell had broken them at our Nats.

Her still would have got a certificate that would have listed him as a WR holder, even if Mitch and Michaels WR sheets finally come through, Max would have had those WR certificates.

Max would never ever do that. He was encouraged by the organizers to claim them. They told him that Michael and Mitchells applications may not get there in time or not get lodged, and if Max didnt claim them, the original holder would keep them.

Max has way to much character to do that. He knows Michael and Mitchell have the records, no matter what the official site says.

There is a good chance the original holder may keep his records, simply because Max refused to call them at the comp.

This is a poor system in my opinion, and something that WPC have to work on.

Still, I'm very proud of Max.

Michael was asking me last night if you has sent any of the cards from the nats off to Sydney to be processed?

He is still yet to submit his.

I agree with you and him that this is a piss poor system where a lifter has to submit their records.

It should be the repsonsibility of the officials at the event where the record is broken.

well done to max show the class and character of him to do that... Capo need to lift there game.... P!SS poor if u ask me .. im just about ready to jump boats its a joke.

All the PTC crew have sent their forms to Laurie Butler, he then has to send them to the referees, then he scans them and sends them to Amy Jackson in America.

Great system that, winner.

Currently, the only thing keeping us at CAPO is the WPC and the crew in the States.

I just ignore the record boards and results.

Its 5 weeks since the Nats, and the results have the weight divisions OVER 90kg missing from the results, no Gawain, no Derek Boyer, no Jason Durbridge.

How f u c k i n g hard is it. I'm sure everyone is convinced I'm simply a pest, I dont even bother contacting anyone to get stuff corrected anymore.

I spoke to Amy about how we can fix this rubbish, its a blight at the moment. Its up to her now as far as the Worlds goes.

Markos,

Long time PTC reader and lurker here, just want to say a huge congrats to Max and yourself.

Sounds like it was an amazing trip on the whole.
