Workout Of The Week - What Is The Best Ab Training Routine?

no kidding but i'm sure you can understand what i am talking about now..

shrek posts what seems like (to me) a genuine abs workout and then the first response is "you're doing it wrong" or something to that effect...................
It is a genuine workout. I personally don't do this but if your keen why not?

Crunches for upper abs
Reverse crunches or leg raises for the lower abs
Side crunches for intercostals and serratus
Side bends for obliques

3 sets of 20 each

Total ab workout - now get crackin' ;)

Ok its a "ab" workout but there is no such thing as upper or lower abs. Can you tell me the origing the insertion and action of the rectus abdominus, the internal and external obliques aswell as the transverse abdominus?

+1 on the ab wheel rollout being 100% serious. Even if you can knock out 100+ situps (dont advise doing that btw) that doesn't mean you can do 1 ab wheel rollout, they're pretty brutal.

Have seen this first hand.

I'm in a friendly comp for most rollouts in a single set. 112 from knees so far & 7 from toes. I have to get to 120 from knees!

yes, yes, it was generalization aimed at the noobs. :p

The abs short the distance from the sternum to the pelvis hence the lower and upper theory.
