Personally I would say a powerlifting program would yield better results, certainly when I followed a years worth of sheiko blocks I took my raw pause and go bench from 100 to 140. In a single ply shirt the best I got was 180 with a pause.
I don't know many natural guys out there who can bench 4 plates, let alone 3 consistently. It's definitely a lift that requires dedication and the right programming to achieve, which is why I mentioned the slings as these are training aids that will assist you in benching heavier more often, it's certainly what holds mine back is lack of training partners.
