Unracking the Bench Press

Yep. Good technique. More or less what i do, except i use the bar to tighten myself right up. I. Able to get so tight nowadays thats its a little tiring. Im usually fucked right up after a big volume bench session. Haha

I'll occasionally do it whilst lightly gripping the bar now but just got in the habit of not touching the bar so that I'd consciously remember to do it before unracking. Don't think it makes a difference when you (or really how) you do it but its an important step

More often than not a trainee spends too much time bench pressing compared to other variations of pulling and pushing.

It is a shit exercise in relation to the benefits garnered by most other exercises neglected;

it doesn't really biuld good overall pec strength and flexibility
the anterior deltoids do the load of the work
the triceps are worked, but there are safer exercises to load these muscles
the shoulder blades are pinned against the bench inhibiting proper shoulder movement

its and exercise that builds strength, but too much can and will cause a Miriad of shoulder complications down the track, and that's not what exercise is for, to cause injury.

how strong are you?i have no idea wat you look like nor how strong you are etc.obviously peeps know you here,you must be legit.but..its the best for mass building.i look at good benchers..they are thick.Thats not from doing crossovers.

That's because big bench presses do shitloads of incline bench, dumbbell work, dips and flies lol.

Tell me @gerry. ; what do YOU do for bench?

when its time to get srs..smolov jr.pause everything even the warm ups.ive done singles from about 3 weeks out but not sure if that works.

further out..whatever...dude i mess around with my bodyweight,it gets ruined.solid plan eh.ive recently bought some dumbells..im learning how to dumbell bench again after literally years of not doing it..hopefully see some gains.i like the incline as well.
