I don't think this topic gets regurgitated often enough lol. Let's make it a weekly series.
5/3/1??? Is that the reps you perform for all the exercises mate or just the compounds?
Was thinking of trying a split like this. Will I see good results???
/snip 6 day split with every iso known to man...
Alot of guys have gone through the whole "if I train like a bodybuilder, won't that make me a bodybuilder" thing. I have, I won't deny it. We are trying to save you from making the same mistakes. You just spin your wheels, pumping up muscles you were born with. If you want to build muscle you have to EAT and lift heavy weights. Its as simple as 2-4 exercises per workout, 3x a week.
This. I get the biggest lol when I see people like 'I've been doing this strength program for a while I think its time to swap to bodybuilding' like I'm going to be honest - youre benching 2 figures. Teenagers can do that, are they huge? Use bench marks (eg deadlifting 260 or benching 180) points where you'll see your physique changing.
but that will take 10 years for most.
i dont believe that strength is associated with size. you can say bench 180, but that will take 10 years for most. you cant tell people wanting aesthetic goals to go bench 150-180.
i can bench more that most the guys my age, but some are bigger than me, even with their 70kg 3x10.
chase the pump. sarcoplasmic hypertrophy.
Thanks mate would appreciate it. I need to have a talk to the owner of my gum. He competes and will have some great programs. I really want the bodybuilder look but have no interest in competing.
My program should be during the week as I rarely can make the gym on weekends. Thanks for the help again
