Nothings more hilarious than watching the biggest, buffest guy at my gym singing along to Justin Bieber & Taylor Swift when they come on Channel V, knowing every word hahahahah! :D

hahaha, saw something similar today, a old bird dancing as she walked to the music...looked weird seeing her grooving along in the middle of the gym

At my commercial gym, the fixed weight bars max out at 35kg so if you want to curl more you've got to get one of the olympic bars and load it up or the single ezycurl bar thats available. [...]

Bloody commercial gym needs more weights.
Or maybe you could just not curl. It comes with the added bonus of no longer looking like such a poser :p

I'd be pretty embarassed to admit that I frequented a gym that played

1. V
2. Justin Bieber
3. Taylor Swift

Still, if your going to go there, you may as well be big and buff

One kid, did curl and only went half way up, then later i saw him do curl going halfway down. Why not just save time and effort and make it into full curl. This kid only trains arms. Pretty skinny arms too.

21's is a plateau blasting technique which really burns your arms in a bodybuilding context its not the same as what PTC mentioned.

i googled some steps because i suck at informative posts

Things You'll Need:

  • A Barbell or EZ Curl Bar

  1. 1
First you will need to pick a weight on a barbell or ez-curl bar that will be moderately challenging for you. Maybe about 70% of the weight you use for regular sets of 10. For example, being able to curl 110 pounds 10 times may require you to drop down to about 80 pounds for this particular exercise.
  2. 2
The exercise is best described as doing 3 exercises back to back, isolating different parts of you biceps.
  3. 3
The first movement you will be making is basically half of a curl. Have the bar at your waist and lift until your forearms are parallel to the floor, stop, lower the weight and repeat 7 times.
  4. 4
Without rest, after your 7th rep, start in the position that you ended with in the last movement (forearms parallel to the floor) and then bring the bar to your neck, back down to the starting position and back up to your neck for 7 reps. This movement is basically the top half of the typical curl whereas the previous step was the bottom half.
  5. 5
Now you have totaled 14 reps and your biceps should be on fire but its not over yet. To complete this exercise, finish it off with 7 more full motion curls to make the total 21 reps (Hence the name). Good Luck

Why not just curl for 2-3 sets?

Biceps are approx 1/3rd of all arm muscle and get a lot of work from pulling movements anyway.

Clip clops are generally harder to build and what no gym bunnys actually have, but when they're huge they're really what gives the illusion of size imo.

Arms also look better at a lower bodyfat %.

people talking about their supplements like preworkout stuff and all these bs products then wondering why they don't get results......i tried to help, i did........but nup they knew what they were talking about....

so frustrating

I can't handle it anymore, i see this trainer getting people to squat at the gym, and they load it up to about between 50-90KG and get them doing half ass squats, they are not even sweating, just shaking knees. I mean I don't want to tell them how to do their job.

I bet they would be down half that weight if they did it properly

Craze,

I see the same thing all the time. What I've also started noticing lately for the first time, is that people are looking at me. Which is wierd because I'm just this chubby short 40 year old bloke. But I notice it most when I'm squatting and deadlifting, particularly squatting. I load up 130 odd now and go full depth for a few reps. At my gym, this seems to be abnormal, I catch a lot of bigger guys watching when I step back. Can't imagine what they'll think when I do it with 200kg... ;)

Cheers,
Mike

I saw a young bloke last night doing proper squats about 100KG, very impressive, he did them properly, i congratulated him as i was in disbelief!

I only just started doing squats, due to my knee starting around 30-60KG, at least i do them properly.

It was funny watching people use the bench press seat to do bicep curls for 45 minutes.
